So, following on from my thread: aibu to expect dh to NOT leave his pants on the floor

The challenge has begun!

Any bets? How long will it take for HIM to put them IN THE WASH? Not elsewhere in the house, but actually in the washing basket or, god forbid, in the machine?

My DH picks his up too. Always puts clothes in wash besket too.

I say leave them till he runs out of clean ones.

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 07:54

My DH picks his up, puts them in the laundry basket....and even puts the washing machine on from time to timeo without any prompting from me...he's great and I love him!

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 07:55

oh...in response to the OP....just leave them!

Trinityrhino · 16/06/2007 08:02

my dh doesn't own any underwear whatsoever

it's so nice never to have to worry about dirty pants lying around

ludaloo · 16/06/2007 08:16

My dh has to already hold the record! He leaves his clothes wherever he decides to take them off.....I got fed up with it and left a pair of socks in the bathroom for 8 days....I even had to hoover around them....I gave in and picked them up
(He would have picked them up if I'd have nagged him...but I didn't nag him...he should be capable of picking his own crusty socks up without me nagging him! He must have seen them every time he went in there but didn't bother to move them)
He still leaves his clothes anywhere he fancies. After constant nagging he sometimes attempts to put things in the washing basket....but even then they are just flung in the general direction of the basket!!

ratfly · 16/06/2007 19:24

the pants update:

They are still there! It has been 36 hours so far...

Now, if you'd put the cress seeds in when I said you could be having egg and cress sandwiches by Monday

Actually, maybe thats not such a good idea.......BARF.....

willywonka · 16/06/2007 20:40

Have your guests arrived, ratfly?

ratfly · 16/06/2007 23:06

yes. our guests have been and gone, I dont think they saw the boxers though, as the light fitting in our bathroom doesnt work... dont get me started on that.

interestingly, the boxers have moved to the other side of the bathroom, along with the remote from the tv in our bedroom. ?!

OP posts:
ratfly · 17/06/2007 19:42

To continue the pantblog..

They are still there, but the tv remotes have gone. Maybe the boxers ate them?
So that's 2 1/2 days now.

day three in the big brother house. The pants have been sitting on the other side of the floor for 300 minutes...

Get this - my ex-boss used to tuck his pants inside his socks and roll them all into a ball before putting them in the wastebasket......

His wife told me when she was drunk a the Xmas do.....she said it was a nightmare doing the washing as she had to 'unball them'...!

wrinklytum · 17/06/2007 19:55

Ratfly,am watching your thread with interest and MUCH amusement. .Once went on strike re dps socks and the same pair stayed on our bedroom floor for...wait for it....EIGHT WEEKS!!!!

I caved in in the end

ratfly · 17/06/2007 19:59

Lol Aunty! That is exactly the sort of information you need to know about your boss!

Wrinklytum (great name btw!) 8 weeks!!! Well done for lasting that long. Do they not notice, or just not care?!

OP posts:
willywonka · 17/06/2007 20:03

Lol at the remote control disappearing . I continue to watch this thread with an unreasonable amount of interest and am full of admiration at your will power for leaving them there this long

I have been known to deliberately snap a button on dh's shirt when it's been lying on the floor for too long. When he discovers the button problem I always suggest that it much have been stepped on when lying on the floor causing the button to snap.

Perhaps you could unpick a few stitches on the seam?

Smutti · 17/06/2007 21:35

My loo seat is still there. Stay strong ratfly!

ratfly · 18/06/2007 09:07

It's my birthday today.
As a special present, DH left a SECOND pair of boxers behind the bathroom door.
Bless him, he sure knows what I want.

OP posts:
Saturn74 · 18/06/2007 09:10

Staple them to his forehead.

Saturn74 · 18/06/2007 09:10

Oh, and happy birthday!

auntyspan · 18/06/2007 10:14

Maybe you should make a birthday cake, shred his boxers, add them to the cake mix and then serve him up a slice.

I still like the cress idea

chaoszone7 · 18/06/2007 10:24

I can sympathise with all those who have dp/dh's who leave things on the floor. My dp is so untidy. so I used to literalaly be following him round the house tidying up. With 5 children I was burning myself out so now I just leave his stuff where it falls and walk away tho it is very hard.
His favourite is mugs. leaves them all over the house and collects them up every coule of days cos we run out..lol
We had a plate of toast crusts in the study for over 24 hrs a few weeks ago.....
Stay strong and leave the boxers for him.

BettySpaghetti · 18/06/2007 11:04

Now there's a second pair you could grow mustard seeds on one, and cress on the other.....you'll have quite a mini-indoor garden soon
