Hermione - Harry Potter - How annoying!

Tahani · 17/10/2018 12:25

She is just annoying, much more so in the film than the books.

Just watching the Goblet of Fire, and she's 'ooo Victor is so physical... well he isn't loquacious, he likes to watch me study'

she just really grates on me...

@SalemBlackCat4 - Depends how far back you go re blood status, I think. Harry has a witch and a wizard for parents so he is a "full blood" but not necessarily a pure blood if Lily being muggle born is a factor. Tonks is in a similar position I think, as her mum Andromeda Black is a pure blood witch. Her dad Ted Tonks is a wizard but a muggle born wizard... so she's the daughter of two magical parents but Ted's ancestry wouldn't satisfy some, such as the rest of the Black side of the family. Both are strong magicians.

Draco and Ron amongst others are from old wizarding families on both sides so they are both "full bloods" and pure bloods, although the Weasleys aren't prejudiced about it or fussed about maintaining it through marriage or children, so some people say that they are "blood traitors". In contrast, Draco comes from a family for whom it matters inordinately. Again, average to powerful magic levels between them.

Hermione is muggle born, slurred as a mud blood. No magic in the family other than her although she's a pretty powerful witch in contrast to Filch & Mrs Figg who were born into pure/fully magical families but are magicless "squibs, full blooded/fairly pure blooded Neville who takes a while to hit his stride and show magic as a kid, the inbred but pureblood halfwit Morfin Gaunt and the immensely dim Crabbe & Goyle (Death Eater offspring). She might be exceptional but other muggle borns like Colin Creevey are shown as outsiders but not weak magicians by default.

Seamus, Snape and Voldy are half bloods. Snape the Half Blood Prince has a witch mum (Eileen Prince) and muggle dad, Voldy likewise (plus some pure blood inbreeding through his mum) and Seamus too- his Mam is a witch and his Da is muggle. The only opposite example I can think of easily is Dean Thomas, who has a muggle mum and a suspected wizard biological dad. All either powerful wizards or at least never notably weak.

Can't stand Hermione - film version, especially when the men on TV were saying many sexual things about her and she was about 13. It's just an encouragement of pedophilia. Book Hermione was good until the films came out then it was ruined. She's just another anorexic too-clever-by-half new-age film actress, an under developed insipid droopy girl.

Should have just left HP at the books.

I don't like Harry Potter any more. He's too much like the inner circle of the top of the FreeMasons, all full of their weird stuff and Satan-esque practices and words. Gruesome, and a very unhealthy way of subtly giving children ideas. JK Rowling knew what she was doing.

Ellyess - Do you need some help hun?

SalemBlackCat4 · 19/10/2018 18:55

@Ellyess Seriously, how did you get to be so brainwashed and so misinformed? I have known many Freemasons and they are the most charitable, hard-working, giving people who are always first on site if there is a flood or fire. They are pillars of the community and work tirelessly for causes such as leukaemia. I have no idea who put all this alarmist extremist nonsense in your head about Freemasons, but it is obvious that someone has got to you and poisoned you and brainwashed you with hateful lies. NEVER criticise Freemasons.

SalemBlackCat4 · 19/10/2018 18:58

"Can't stand Hermione - film version, especially when the men on TV were saying many sexual things about her and she was about 13. It's just an encouragement of pedophilia."

Yes, because MEN say things, women and girls must HIDE in case they 'awaken lust' or something. Are we in Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan? Are you from the 1800s? I doubt any men have made comments about Hermione like that, you clearly are unstable and have been brainwashed with dangerous unhinged nonsense. Please get some therapy and help. And I do not say this to be mean. I genuinely think you need serious help.

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 19/10/2018 19:04

Aaaanyway...

pure blooded Neville who takes a while to hit his stride and show magic as a kid

In fairness to Neville, he was using his father's old wand until the end of OoP, when it was broken in the battle at the ministry. It clearly didn't suit him as when he got his own wand from Ollivander in HBP, he becomes distinctly less incompetent. And he was probably too stressed out as a kid to show his magic, what with his extended family hanging him out of windows and such Grin

My mum's rather religious friends told her that she was indoctrinating me into Satanism by reading me Meg & Mog when I was 3. Nutters gonna nut.

SoSobored · 19/10/2018 19:27

Tahani Umbridge wasn't a death eater but she is all for "Wizards taking their place" - which is above muggles, and all other magical races. It's just like white supremacists. So she was a sympathiser to the regime

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 19/10/2018 19:31

Wooden actors and you are all hating Harry/Hermoine when the Weasley twins were there, just about the worst actors going in the films.

Rebecca36 · 19/10/2018 19:34

Am I the only poster who has no idea what the op is on about?

Whisky2014 · 19/10/2018 19:35

I like her!

Ellyess · 19/10/2018 19:58

ProfessorMoody Yep. Please... a big hug would be wonderful!

I was innocently doing genuine research for a legitimate reason and it led to this horrible stuff.... won't go on about it here. I thought it was just a load of rubbish but I had to plough on and eventually had to realise it is true. It's everywhere! It's absolutely verified and real. The devil stuff does go on in some very strange places. I suppose there have always been some people throughout history who do such things. St Paul's Cathedral in London is crammed with FreeMason signs. However, the area I had to read-up about was the top part (30 and above) of FreeMasons and some other secret societies. I was bowled over because they have many names that come up in the Harry Potter books! Apparently the FreeMasons, who have levels or degrees, kind of change when they reach the 30th degree so 30th 31 and 32 are in a separate part. 33 is an honorary level/degree. Once up there in the 30s they are the hierarchy and know 'secrets' that the others below do not know. Except loads have come out and spilled the beans. Top level FreeMasons are represented on the top part of the pyramid on the dollar bill that is separate from the rest. That is where the all-seeing eye looks out. These are the Illuminati. All Presidents are among them, the Queen of England, and every astronaut, and anyone who is famous, rich, etc. You can easily look it up. Then there's 'Skull and Bones' - ask George Bush (either one). and don't forget the Bohemian Club and most prestigious summer camp the Bohemian Grove, there, also a 'secret' society of top men go off to the woods and dance around naked paying homage to a big model owl. The priests are dressed in vestments and they have weird dodgy-sounding rituals and call themselves "the perverted ones" or so they say. There is film of it, taken surreptitiously.
I vividly remember thinking, this is just some ridiculous crazy conspiracy theory invention, or someone's having me on...However there is too much evidence, it's been around for 100s of years, it is extremely embedded into all structures of society throughout the world without any of the different parts knowing anything about it. Even the scouts is part of it yet autonomous as far as anyone in the scouts is concerned.

I don't know the best place to suggest for you to look it up as it tool me a lot of reading across many references.

If you are interested in understanding the Bible and If you want an introduction about it from a person explaining the Bible and how it has been misconstrued/misused you could try
amazingdiscoveries.tv/media/123/211-the-secret-behind-secret-societies/ and the next one, 212, but they might not be very helpful if you aren't interested in the Bible.
The Sunday Express did an article but I don't like the Sunday Express much so it probably does more for conspiracy theory than fact! anyway its on;
www.express.co.uk/news/world/657256/Secret-societies-conspiracy-theories-Freemasons-Illuminati-Skulls-and-Bones-Bilderberg
I think there are quite a lot of YouTube films, some from people who have left. Anyway, it is generally accepted among those who research this stuff and work with counselling people who have been affected, that JK Rowling appears to have a "dark side" and when she says the Luciferian names just came to her and she knows not from whence, it is more likely they are names with which she is familiar and perhaps, we do not know, names she is gently introducing, playing with us, or hiding them in plain sight.

Tahani I know. Mental but.... fact is stranger than fiction.....

My main message really is - enjoy the books and films at the fun and entertainment level. If anything else comes into it or you meet people who are talking about weird "real" Lucifer Witches or suchlike, get away quickly and make sure your children keep well away.

I have met people made very ill by dabbling with esoteric things like this. But the Harry Potter books and films are harmless if you just enjoy them at the entertainment level. And they are brilliantly entertaining.

Ellyess · 19/10/2018 20:06

Tahani Whoops! No of course I'm not blaming the poor girl for the awful men! Sorry! I should have been clearer. I hate the way she has been used. I don't like the way, as a child actress, she was talked about and manipulated.

Many humble apologies for not being clearer! I was in a bit of a hurry - no excuse tho.

Ellyess · 19/10/2018 20:12

MadeleineMaxwell I taught in a school with a reception class teacher who also banned Meg Mog and Owl, and would not sing the verse in Waltzing Mathilda where his ghost may be heard!

I hope you've seen what I said about enjoying HP by now. My aversion is due to my experience which, fortunately, is rare and hardly likely to affect many people! Some people who had been affected by a certain problem in their life were very disturbed by references in the HP books, and I in my work, had to learn why. It was quite shattering for me and I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't come across it in this way.

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 19/10/2018 20:13

Well I don't think anyone with any knowledge of mythology and fantasy canons would think that JKR's choice of names and nomenclature is anything but derivative...

I'm still not sure how this makes the HP series a dangerous gateway drug to luciferian orgies...

SantaClauseMightWork · 19/10/2018 20:20

if Ron was as know it all as her

But she DID know it all. At least compared to Ron and Harry. If it's annoying that her knowing it all saved the world and more, then so be it.

Ellyess · 19/10/2018 20:25

not sure how this makes the HP series a dangerous gateway drug to luciferian orgies.

Nobody said it did.

Jamboree05 · 19/10/2018 21:28

Emma Watson ruined Hermione for me. She just couldn't control her eyebrows long enough for me to concentrate on anything else. They constantly flew up and down her forehead in some ridiculous bloody eyebrow dance. Bloody awful.

FantasticHarryPotter · 19/10/2018 21:49

I think Tom Felton did make a good Draco though. He mastered the condescending voice well.

McGonogal, Snape, Neville and Hagrid were also great and Ron suites his character too.

Otherwise the actors weren't necessarily bad but just didn't suit their respective character. Like Dumbledore shouting in the Goblet of Fire film. It just didn't seem like Dumbledore.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 20/10/2018 09:54

Michael Gambon is awful as Dumbledore. At least DR, BW & EW were children when they were chosen. What’s Gambons reason?! He’s appalling. Gavel.

Maisymoo22 · 20/10/2018 10:27

Never read the books nor seen any of the films. They have never appealed to me.
Must be extremely popular though because the crap seems to be on tv every few months...and guess what starting from tonight they’re showing them again so woopi doo eh!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 20/10/2018 10:34

Maybe because they aren’t crap! Though admittedly the books are better than the films.

ProfessorMoody · 20/10/2018 11:10

So you've never read the books, or seen the films, yet you are calling them crap?

You do realise that without actually knowing anything about them, your opinion is completely invalid?
