Hermione - Harry Potter - How annoying!

She is just annoying, much more so in the film than the books.

Just watching the Goblet of Fire, and she's 'ooo Victor is so physical... well he isn't loquacious, he likes to watch me study'

she just really grates on me...

The Phelps twins and Tom Felton ruined the movies for me.

MorrisZapp · 17/10/2018 23:15

The Weasley twins were bloody brilliant in the films! How can anyone not love them? They're absolutely perfect for the roles.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 17/10/2018 23:19

Are you alright morris

Do you need to lie down in a darkened room?

ProfessorMoody · 17/10/2018 23:39

Are you one of the Phelps twins, Morris?

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 17/10/2018 23:40

Oh Morris.

Or should that be....MorrisPhelps?

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 17/10/2018 23:51

just to digress (only slightly) I think Kiera Knightly is the worst, successful actress I’ve ever seen.
Looks, check
Body, check
Acting ability...........

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 17/10/2018 23:56

Ooo sorry killed that one😳
Where were we?
Ah yes!
EW was shite!
Please carry on

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 17/10/2018 23:58

I’d tend to agree @Aintnothing, but I’ve read some interviews with KK where she talks very intelligently about feminism and women’s issues without being as preachy as EW, which has really made me warm to her.

SylviaAndSidney · 18/10/2018 00:01

Oh God when Fred and George are speaking in unison and finishing each other’s sentences when they’re explaining the marauder’s map makes me want to gnaw my fist off 😬

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 18/10/2018 00:04

That’s v true Penny I just think it’s all so subjective.
I actually cringe when watching KK in anything! But I take it on the chin😉
I’m sure they do too, they have fabulous careers, look shit hot, are earning shed loads so I’m sure that a few MN comments aren’t going to spoil their sleep!

SylviaAndSidney · 18/10/2018 00:05

It always bugs me in The Chamber of Secrets when Fred, George, Ron and Harry arrive back at the Burrow, the Weasley boys always seem to look at the house as though they’ve never seen it before.

SachaStark · 18/10/2018 00:06

That can only be a rumour, re: Saoirse Ronan, surely she was far too young to audition for Luna at the time? She appeared in Atonement round about the same time as Order of the Phoenix was out.

Can't think why they'd particularly be after Irish actresses either, though Evanna is perfect for the role, as it's quite clear from book 4 that the Lovegoods, like the Weasleys, live in Devon.

Agreed with pretty much everyone: Emma Watson was unfortunate to the point of hilarity as Hermione.

NoHufflefucksGivenMugglefucker · 18/10/2018 00:10

Book Hermione is definitely better.
But her acting does get better as the films go on I think. But her acting does stick out in the earlier films sometimes as quite crap.

You’ve got dirt on your nose, by the way, did you know?

Urgh

SachaStark · 18/10/2018 00:12

Oh dear, the Phelps twins! And Fred and George are so good in the books!

Do you know, I reckon the screenwriter should take a lot of the blame there, though. F&G already had fab jokes written by Rowling, so all he really needed to do was copy them into his screenplay... instead this became lame "finishing each other's sentences" jokes Hmm

feelsicksicksick · 18/10/2018 00:13

Love her in the movies, hated her in the books

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 18/10/2018 00:14

I just don’t understand why on a film set with a budget of squillions of pounds, the production company couldn’t have sprung for an acting coach to make things a bit less wooden?

It must have been pretty obvious from the off that DR and EW weren’t exactly giving amazing performances, especially held up against Rupert Grint.

RunningWhileTheWorldBurns · 18/10/2018 00:23

Another one in Harry Potter pjs here 🙋🏻‍♀️

The Weasley twins give me the cringe.

Did Neville and Luna actually get together in the end? I can’t remember

GrandTheftWalrus · 18/10/2018 00:34

No he got with Hannah Abbott who became landlady of the leaky cauldron and he became herbology professor.

ToeToToe · 18/10/2018 00:45

Luna married the grandson of Eddie Redmayne in Fantastic Beasts.

The last HP film hinted that Luna & Neville would get together though.

ToeToToe · 18/10/2018 00:53

The Weasley twins often speak in unison in the films, which I don't think they do in the book. They quip off each other in the books.

Twins speaking in unison = guaranteed to freak people out.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 18/10/2018 01:11

I am totally in love with Neville Longbottom,
Always was
Always will

Tahani · 18/10/2018 07:09

Neville is such a lovely character, genuinely lovely

WrenNatsworthy · 18/10/2018 08:14

DS has just finished watching all the films all over again. I think that EW is great from Prisoner of Azkhaban onwards. I love that we get to see how they grow up, and become better actors.
I am in agreement that they were wooden to start with, but I'm fond of them, they're like national treasures now!

Claim to fame, my Aunt once made EW beans on toast, as EW was friends with her Goddaughter at the time. This was pre HP.

iliketomoveitmoveitMOVEIT · 18/10/2018 08:23

Always been in love with Neville? Yeah, we know your game GrinWink

Oh lord, I'm now thinking about the remakes. We're about due, aren't we? At least for the first?

I bet they go all Hobbit and turn a 200 page book into a 3 year, 3 film franchise yawnfest.
