DH offered to cook sausage and mash. I think they are burnt but he says they are just right!

Add graveyard and they'll be fine.

Ignoramusgiganticus · 23/09/2018 13:16

Is anyone keeping a spreadsheet? As a rough guesstimate i'd say there are more just righters than burnters.

seventhgonickname · 23/09/2018 13:16

Gravy, spell check is alive and well.

HashTagLil · 23/09/2018 13:16

I wouldn't eat them.

NatureIs · 23/09/2018 13:17

If they look like shit, they're shit.

Ignoramusgiganticus · 23/09/2018 13:20

They don't look like shit Angry

NatureIs · 23/09/2018 13:21

Don't chuck them though. They'll be ok, perhaps not the tastiest thing ever just have extra gravy/sauce!

RomanyRoots · 23/09/2018 13:22

definitely burnt unless you bought black sausages.

Oblomov18 · 23/09/2018 13:25

They aren't burnt. But they are overdone, or more done than I'd like. I think they would be quite dry.

HardAsSnails · 23/09/2018 13:26

They look perfectly well done to me.

throughtheeyeofaneedle · 23/09/2018 13:28

Not burnt in my world - they look perfect! (And for comparison, I like my steak rare😁)

EdWinchester · 23/09/2018 13:29

I like them like that.

Oblomov18 · 23/09/2018 13:30

That is how much I like mine done.

But it's like the toast question: do you like yours done to brown-ness 1,2,3-12 etc.

Cel982 · 23/09/2018 13:34

They're definitely not burnt, just overdone. This is the way both my parents used to cook sausages, so these look pretty normal (and delicious!) to me. As an adult I realised that most people prefer sausages to be cooked as in Oblomov's picture, but I find those a bit flabby.

Grilledaubergines · 23/09/2018 13:36

They’re nowhere near burnt. He’s cooked them perfectly to my liking anyway! Can’t bear anaemic looking sausages.

PigletJohn · 23/09/2018 13:36

they look to me leathery, like they have been cooked in an oven and left too long.

They are not burnt, with black patches.

BuntyII · 23/09/2018 13:38

How did you even get that texture Confused sausages should be dark brown and sticky, not black and dry.

guiltynetter · 23/09/2018 13:39

perfect! i hate pale sausages or ones that aren’t cooked all the way round.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 23/09/2018 13:40

Well they are well done. But they’re not black so no, they’re no burnt.

They won’t necessarily be dry on the inside just because the skin is crispy, not sure why people are saying that! Sausages have a high fat content so they will stay moist.

Blondebakingmumma · 23/09/2018 13:40

My hubby doesn’t cook often, so I’d say “thank you darling”
And wouldn’t say anything, Even if they are burnt

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 23/09/2018 13:40

Look just how I like them.

Fancies sausages, onion mash, cabbage and thick gravy now

Tfoot75 · 23/09/2018 16:00

This is my favourite way to cook sausages, except for slightly burnt on the bbq. Personal choice - I have steak medium rare so nothing to do with a general trend for dry meat, just hate undercooked sausages with bits of gristle in.

PickAChew · 23/09/2018 16:11

They look a bit over. I've noticed that some flavours seem to do that more than others, ag I'll cook a pack of Lincolnshire sausages and a pack of caramelised onion ones and the onion ones catch quite badly, in places, presumably because of the sugar in the onions.

Oysterbabe · 23/09/2018 16:21

The skin looks all leathery and gross.

QuacksInTheDark · 23/09/2018 17:02

Mmmmmm I love my sausages like that!😋😋😋😋
