To ask if this would worry you

I thought I would ask here first because it's an absolute nightmare to get into my doctors. But if you had these symptoms would it worry you and does it warrant a trip to the GP.

About a week and a half ago I woke up with an excruciating headache. They will only go away with painkillers but are coming back pretty quick and have lasted since last week.

I feel very weird in myself. I'm dizzy and a bit out of sorts - like I'm not really here type of feeling. It's very hard to explain but I'm just away with it. I can feel myself losing control of my arms for a split second and then snapping back to reality. Sorry if this doesn't make sense but it's very hard to explain.

I never really suffer with headaches, maybe a couple a month so this is quite out of character. If you had these symptoms would you go see your GP?

Sorry if I'm waffling just trying to explain what I'm feeling like. I'm in constant constant pain with my head and feeling very unusual in myself.

Yes! You definitely need someone to check your blood pressure.

Borntobeamum · 15/09/2018 21:09

Seriously I'd get myself to A&E if I felt like that x

WutheringFrights · 15/09/2018 21:12

It sounds like a migraine but it might not be and if it isn’t it’s worth being checked out.

HeckinGoodDoggo · 15/09/2018 21:13

Could be a flu type virus?

chilied · 15/09/2018 21:15

I sometimes feel like this with a migraine, but if you're getting it that frequently I would definitely get it checked out! As someone said previously could be related to blood pressure

Butterymuffin · 15/09/2018 21:16

I'd say go to A&E but it'll be madness on a Saturday night. Maybe tomorrow morning? Or GP on Monday if not. You definitely need to see someone.

2ManyChoices · 15/09/2018 21:16

All 101 or 111 or whatever the frick the number is, please, I don't want to worry you but my Granny had a stroke at 48 and had symptoms such as yours. Please call them. ASAP.

eddielizzard · 15/09/2018 21:18

Is your speech normal?

Singlenotsingle · 15/09/2018 21:19

Have you got any problems with vision? Double vision? Blurry?

WutheringFrights · 15/09/2018 21:24

Migraine can suddenly take hold even if you’ve never had one before, mine are hormonal and suddenly started after I had DC2, now I get them every flipping month.
Have you had any hormonal ‘changes’ recently?

DanielCraigsUnderpants · 15/09/2018 21:26

My first thought was migraine. But go get yourself checked out for reassurance

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 15/09/2018 21:27

Op you really must see someone. The bad headache lasting so long is a worry in itself.
Look after yourself x

StrawberryStar · 15/09/2018 21:28

Do you have a walk in centre local to you? May be better thsn a & e

Magik1 · 15/09/2018 21:28

Definitely get checked out especially as it’s not usual for you.

glintandglide · 15/09/2018 21:33

It sounds like a migraine tbh, you can suddenly get them. If you have already had it a week and half I seee no reason why you would need immediate medical attention tonight Hmm although I’d ask for an emergency appointment at your GP Monday

MedSchoolRat · 15/09/2018 21:37

walk in centre tomorrow?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/09/2018 21:45

One life only, get yourself off now !

Bookworm33 · 15/09/2018 21:49

I could have wrote your post. Except mine has lasted on and off for 6 months. Every time I go to the doctor they tell me it's something different. The only thing that takes the edge off is ibroprfin. They said I had a sinnus problem then migraine and last time an inner ear balance thing. Go to the doctors. I might try again it's horrible I hate going out as I feel like I could pass out. Not so bad when sitting or lying down.

ohtheholidays · 15/09/2018 21:53

Honestly loss of control of your arms I'd be going to A&E if you don't want to just turn up there then ring 111 don't just leave it.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 15/09/2018 21:54

Sounds like migraine to me. There are lots of different types. Is the headache all over your head? Is it more on one side?

I've had migraines since my teens. It's a weird, quirky condition. You can buy migraine medication over the counter.

If you're worried call 111. They may be able to offer you an appointment at the walk in place. Saves lots of waiting.

LunaTheCat · 15/09/2018 21:55

Go to walk in centre.

Quartz2208 · 15/09/2018 21:56

where is the headache

how often is the arms that is worrying

IWishIHadEvenMorePlasticTat · 15/09/2018 21:58

The arms thing is a big concern. With symptoms like that it’s an A&E job.

Babysharkstuckinmyhead · 15/09/2018 22:03

Another one suggesting it could be a migraine. It could possibly be labyrinthitis.

PurpleFlower1983 · 15/09/2018 22:03

Go and get checked out now.
