To ask you for something comforting

to watch?

DP told me our relationship is over. He hasn't been home since he finished work and I haven't heard from him. I'm not sure he means it or if he was just angry.

I have alot of other things going on too, I just want something comforting to watch/distract me - nothing too happy. Last night I watched Almost Famous which helped. I like Ferris Bueller, Pretty in Pink, Juno etc.

Didn't want to read and run. I haven't seen the film's you like but 'dope' is apparently similar to juno. I havent seen it. Hope this helps a little. Be kind to yourself.

I can't think of anything fitting OP but I hope you feel better soon and get it sorted... Flowers

StillSmallVoice · 14/09/2018 22:06

So sorry. hope it's okay in the end. FWIW I have just finished watching Strictly on catch up? I wouldn't say it's comforting, but it's fantastic escapist fun.

Astella22 · 14/09/2018 22:06

Footloose is a good one

HollowTalk · 14/09/2018 22:07

I'm so sorry. I hope you'll come to realise it's the right decision and don't take him back.

I always watch When Harry Met Sally or Sleepless in Seattle for comfort watching.

Glow on netflix is good viewing. Flowers

Steel Magnolias. Reminds me of how important friendships are.
I'm also always comforted by cartoons like Brave

StillSmallVoice · 14/09/2018 22:11

So sorry. Didn't read the post properly. Strictly isn't what you asked for. There's a streaming site called MUBI. At the moment there's a wonderful film called 'Sullivan's Travels '. Possibly more like it. It costs, but I have no doubt you can sign up for free for a month.

Watching Doc Martin on 33.
Gogglebox was good too

Happygummibear · 14/09/2018 22:15

If you can find it. Now and then. A lovely film about 4 ladies reminiscing about their summer in the 1960s. One of my favourite films to just watch and feel warm inside

ProfessorMoody · 14/09/2018 22:16

Gilmore Girls

Can you not watch something on a laptop/phone/tablet?

GlossyGlossy · 14/09/2018 22:43

I don't have any devices other than my phone and generally chat to a couple of friends over messenger so was hoping to use the TV.

Usually he has monopoly over telly as I don't bother much but I put a film on last night before bed and I suspect he put the remote away so I couldn't do that again.
