Mayonnaise

I am putting together an online shop & asked DP if there was anything he can think of that we need. He said mayonnaise.

We have three lots of open mayonnaise in the fridge (2 x squeezy, 1 x jar [almost empty]) and one unopened in the cupboard (squeezy)

I said he can't have any more mayonnaise till we are down to at least 2

He said he prefers mayonnaise in a jar, therefore we need more

If we get more mayonnaise, he will open it BEFORE THE OTHERS ARE EMPTY and I may be pushed over the edge.

Who is BU?

Squeeze the squeezies into the jar?

I’m with your DH. Squeezy mayo is annoying. You’ve also reminded me I’m out of jarred mayo.

The jar mayo is a different consistency and tastes better.

I say tough luck to DH. Squeezy mayo is what you have at the moment and he can get a jar once that's used up.

You are both unreasonable. Mayonnaise is horrible and it should all go in the bin to save you from having to endure it's slimy blandness.

Mayo is great, order more mayo so you can have mayo on EVERYTHING.

absolutely put the squeezy into the jar, he will not know.

give the jar and lid a nice hot wash, watch the label doesn't come off and squeeeeeeze those squeezy bottles.

My DH bought me Heinz instead of Hellmanns once. I wasn’t very impressed.

I agree with your DH, mayonnaise from a jar is nicer than from a squeezy bottle. And as mayonnaise is one of life's essentials, you may as well have the type you like.

Squeezing the mayo into the jar sounds like much more trouble than just refusing to buy any more

Ordinarily he could have whatever version of mayo he wanted, but with three opened already I am putting my foot down

I'm quite enjoying his outragedness at not being allowed jarred mayo

I've started buying jars instead of squeezey bottles as easier to recycle. Ask him what he wants more - not to waste money and use them up, transfer to the jar, pay for the shopping

We once had 4 jars of mayo in the cupboard because DH likes to buy in bulk when things are on offer. Gives me the rage. Your DP IBVVVU.

We have 2 opened jars, Hellmans and Heinz. Squeezy bottles are too annoying to get the last bit out. I have a handy jar scraper from Lakeland

Jar mayonnaise is nicer. The recipe is different for squeezy

Prefer Diet Coke in a can to a plastic bottle. Wonder if this is the same thing.....
