ArsenalsPlayingAtHome · 08/09/2018 14:40

I just can't get my act together today.

I want a day off from life.

Anyone else feeling like this/sometimes feel like this?

Hoping it's not just me!

I often feel like this. You’re definitely not alone.

FastForward2 · 08/09/2018 14:42

Yes it's a 'Duvet Day' !!

LanguidLobster · 08/09/2018 14:42

Yep, I'm on fifth cup of tea and am too lazy to put the kettle on again!

Take some downtime, are you tired from work?

starcrossedseahorse · 08/09/2018 14:43

Embrace your downtime and enjoy!

widgetbeana · 08/09/2018 14:46

It's called a mental health day. A psychologist told me this so it's a legitimate thing, (gavel).

To be fair I do think there is a bit of truth in it. Sometimes your body needs a rest and sometimes your brain needs a rest and sometimes both!

Helpmeltb · 08/09/2018 14:48

Yep, I was glad dd1 had arranged to meet a friend at the park cos it meant I had an excuse for a lazy sofa day!

imaginativeusername · 08/09/2018 14:49

I've spent the day in bed, reading and then surfaced to have a bath and pamper while DH looks after the kids. It feels wonderful. Though, always with a tinge of guilt Hmm

huggybear · 08/09/2018 14:50

Isn't that just the weekend?! 😁

Singlenotsingle · 08/09/2018 14:50

My dgs visiting and doesn't want to do anything or go anywhere. So we won't! Watching rubbish TV, and drinking tea while DP lays new decking down in the garden. Grin

Bluelady · 08/09/2018 14:50

We all have days like that. Don't fight it!

gamerwidow · 08/09/2018 14:53

We all need to take a break to recharge sometimes. Listen to your body not every day needs to be full of stuff.
I stayed in my PJs until 12 today (which I hardly ever do) because I thought ‘what’s the rush there’s no special plans today’. Nothing terrible happened and I felt a lot better for it!

StopPOP · 08/09/2018 14:54

Yup, and when that happens I give in to it. I say "Ok, you got me today, you can have it. But you're not having my tomorrow" Smile

cheesefield · 08/09/2018 14:56

I'm on the sofa under a blanket watching my 4th X Files of the day.

peachypetite · 08/09/2018 14:59

I'm in my pjs with bad period pain. Not planning to leave the house today.

AnnieAnoniMoose · 08/09/2018 15:02

I’ve been up since 5:30

😊😇

For the amount I’ve got done so far I might as well still be in bed! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I frequently want to take a —year— day off from life...

MrsMozart · 08/09/2018 15:07

Yup.

Didn't used to as felt it was lazy and selfish and wasteful, and didn't get chance to anyway.

Then started (can't remember why or how) and now if I feel the need I'll just do the bare minimum (usually looking after the dogs) and the rest of the time will be flobbed.

peachypetite · 08/09/2018 15:09

My job has been really intense lately with crazy workload. It gets to the weekend and I don't have the energy for anything.

Zoflorabore · 08/09/2018 15:12

Totally normal op! Don't give it another thought.

Unless of course you've abandoned the dc downstairs for a nap.

Seriously though, where I am today (North West) it's pissing down and depressing.
I've been out to get my nails done and for a few bits from the shops and I'm in, bra off, hair up and cleaning clothes on. I'm not doing any cleaning I'm going to have a nap.

You've inspired me to Grin

Maverick66 · 08/09/2018 15:13

I hear you.

I'm menopausal which normally I can deal with day to day but some days (today being one of them) i just want to scream and dance and throw a tantrum like a toddler. I am so not in the mood to deal with people!

superram · 08/09/2018 15:16

I’ve had a busy summer, busy first week at work and enjoying catching up on bake off and tonight the bodyguard.

ArsenalsPlayingAtHome · 08/09/2018 15:18

Shock I've clearly been missing something all along, and didn't know it!

The thing is, my house is a tip & I feel like I should be tidying/cleaning/washing/ironing etc.

But after reading this thread, I don't feel so bad now!

Smile FlowersBrew for all of us.

Out of interest, what are your DCs upto, if you have DCs at home, and how old are they roughly?

WrongOnTInternet · 08/09/2018 15:19

You mean there's supposed to be another way to live??
disclaimer: am having a serious mid-life crisis

MargotLovedTom1 · 08/09/2018 15:22

Another one with period pain and a massive case of can'tbearseditis. Children (all over 10) are all still in pyjamas doing whatever, and it's cold and drizzly outside. Fuck it! Enjoying lying on the bed with a cup of tea and the cat.

Flapjackninja · 08/09/2018 15:29

This is me today also, it's wet and cold outside. I've browsed Mumsnet, looked a holidays I'll never book, looked at Christmas decorations Blush. Have moved out of bed to the sofa going to put Harry Potter or Doctor Who on I think and that is it! Could hoover, could clean the bathroom but it won't hurt to leave them another day.
