Boris Johnson has a problem with honesty

DireStraights · 08/09/2018 08:20

Now that Boris Johnson is getting a divorce from his tolerant/long suffering wife, the telegraph are asking if that should affect his leadership ambitions..

No one (I know) has a problem with divorce per se. My issue is with Boris, it seems he can’t be honest with anyone about anything. He’s been accused of having serial affairs, his own family didn’t know he was going to come out as a brexit supporter, he double crossed May and keep leaking making us a laughing stock of Europe and he can’t seem to give a straight answer to anything!

So I don’t think the divorce is the issue but the morality of the person ... of which this divorce seems to be a result ...

Jacob Rees Mugg/Victorian dad is the alternative... Rees Mugg vs Corbyn would be mars vs Venus in triplicate. They would need translators!! We have a choice of dishonesty or total aliens.. shambles

Anyone else feel like they are needing some middle ground .. ??

And in other news, the Pope is Catholic.

MissusGeneHunt · 08/09/2018 08:24

He is a politician. Ergo.....

Squeegle · 08/09/2018 08:25

Couldn’t agree more, he is a serial untruth teller

Childrenofthesun · 08/09/2018 08:27

Before the referendum, it was well-oiled used that he'd written articles for the Telegraph for both Leave and Remain before plumping for the Leave one as he thought it was better for his own career. I can't fathom why anyone would have paid attention to anything he said, knowing that he had written for both sides.

Squeegle · 08/09/2018 08:27

We have gone to a strange place
Where only the “celebrity” politicians seem to be noticed. There are plenty of authentic and honest politicians but they’re not so newsworthy so we don’t hear about them

Childrenofthesun · 08/09/2018 08:28

well publicised

BarbarianMum · 08/09/2018 08:31

I agree - and I think it goes beyond the usual "he's a politician " selective twisting of the truth. He is amoral and will not hestitate to lie to anyone about anything if it gets him what he wants. No conscience at all.

Our very own Donald Trump. Hurrah for us. Sad

Neshoma · 08/09/2018 08:54

Get the messy business out the way before going for PM.

lljkk · 08/09/2018 08:56

Our very own Donald Trump.

^ That.

BossWitch · 08/09/2018 08:59

And bears shit in the woods.

ForalltheSaints · 08/09/2018 08:59

I would argue for the use of the Royal Prerogative if that stopped Boris Johnson being PM. His lack of attention to detail makes him unfit to be the person leading the country and making decisions about the use of our armed forces.

SassitudeandSparkle · 08/09/2018 09:01

I've said before that I think he is channelling Trump at the moment - but his lying is well known and he has lost jobs for it in the past. I don't know what the Conservative party see in him as he seems to be mysteriously popular with the MPs, but I don't think he is with the public so if he was leader/Prime Minster they would be out of power before they could blink!

LaurieMarlow · 08/09/2018 09:03

He is a piece of scum. The rest of the country should tell him to fuck off too.

MyOtherProfile · 08/09/2018 09:08

He is a politician. Ergo
This is always trollied out and I hate it. Not all politicians are liars (although I know many are) but saying it in this context normalises the lying, like what Boris does is no worse than the 600 and so other MPs. This isn't the case. He is a different order of magnitude of lying and cheating. And yes, he should be blocked from being a politician because of all his lies and cheating.

BertrandRussell · 08/09/2018 09:18

Rees-Mott has not, far as I know, committed adultery.

But he has profited from the manufacture of abortion pills, while publicly saying that abortion should not happen, even in cases of rape.

BertrandRussell · 08/09/2018 09:20

*Mogg

Neshoma · 08/09/2018 09:22

I'd rather Boris or JRG than Labour

ImAIdoot · 08/09/2018 09:41

So the Rees-Mogg story is actually a really good example of why we can't have honest politicians.

If you go and look at the background behind the pithy concept of him profiting from abortion pills and analyse what would have to happen for him to prevent the situation arising, it is one of the most abstract and ridiculous accusations you could come across.

Yet people take that and run with it. This is why we end up with Teflon coated slickers and scumbags for politicians, they are the only people who can survive in the British political environment. We literally select for the most dishonest and low-down people possible.

Ifailed · 08/09/2018 09:45

presumably his wife finally had enough when she realised he'd fucked a whole country.

Singlenotsingle · 08/09/2018 09:48

His problem is he can't keep it in his trousers!

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 08/09/2018 09:55

I think the thing with BJ is that he deliberately misleads the public into buying into him. He makes a point of coming across in a certain way, of behaving in a certain way, of even looking a certain way in order to create someone less of a cunt than he truly is. It's all an absolute charade and a million miles away from who he is underneath the carefully executed layers. In his defence he probably ought to be given a Tony award for services to bullshittery.

If you go back over his career in politics he's not just your run-of-the-mill teflon-MP with a touch of the buffoons about him. He's a sly, manipulative piece of shit with his sights set on leadership and I despise him more than I do most other MPs for his deviousness and absolute lack of moral compass.

My Dad and I used to talk about politics often when I was younger and his cardinal rule for politicians was "would they shit on their own doorstep?". If they would, they're no good. It's a pretty good rule to judge them by and when it comes to BJ he's not only previously shit on his own doorstep, it's knee deep in his excrement.

ragged · 08/09/2018 09:58

Like Trump, BJ says what he reckons swing voters want to hear.
Whether it's true or can be disproven, doesn't matter.
I won't accuse BJ of no moral compass, but his is a very wobbly compass.

Nikephorus · 08/09/2018 10:01

Can't stand him. Couldn't be faithful to his wife, couldn't be loyal to his PM & party leader, ergo would happily screw the country over if it gave him what he wanted.
Pisses me off that he's described as having ' a very colourful love life' - no, he's a cheating scumbag who can't keep it in his trousers & doesn't give a shit.

BertrandRussell · 08/09/2018 10:07

"If you go and look at the background behind the pithy concept of him profiting from abortion pills and analyse what would have to happen for him to prevent the situation arising, it is one of the most abstract and ridiculous accusations you could come across."
I'd be interested in hearing more about this.....

TokyoSushi · 08/09/2018 10:09

Yes but the real question is who on earth are these people who are having affairs with him?? Confused
