To give away my cat and my husband

Bloody cat jumped on the countertop to catch a fly and knocked over the deep fryer spilling over a litre of oil on my kitchen floor Angry.
Deep fryer wasn't meant to be on the countertop as it's broken and I had asked husband to put it outside two days ago, yes I could've done it but when I asked him I was busy doing something so then when he hadn't done it due to laziness I decided to leave it until he did it.
I've ruined two towels mopping it up and used a bottle of washing up liquid on it and it's still stinky and slippy.Sad

Put washing powder down then LTB & LTBC (leave the bastard cat)

AnoukSpirit · 07/09/2018 17:46

Keep the cat.

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 07/09/2018 17:47

Keep the dcat obviously and use dh's dressing gown /coat to clean the floor.

Nikephorus · 07/09/2018 18:00

The DCat assumed that DH had done as asked and was trying to eliminate flying vermin from the house as DH had failed to do that too. Hence DCat should receive a reward and should get to sleep on the half of the bed that DH will no longer need following his removal from the house.
YWBU to not include a picture of DCat.

MrsMozart · 07/09/2018 18:03

Keep the cat.

InDubiousBattle · 07/09/2018 18:04

The cat was only trying to rid your house of flies, which are awful, so you should keep the cat.

Whatsthisbear · 07/09/2018 18:05

Cats already been forgiven as he was meowing at me pitifully and I just can't stay mad at him.
DH on the other hand Angry. He's not home yet but I have thought about using his clothes to mop it all up.
Thanks for the tip about the washing powder, I'll do that.
DC just came downstairs and said mmm are you cooking chips? and looked disappointed when I shouted no.
The smell is knocking me sick.

You AND your husband were lazy in leaving it for 2 days, full of oil. It's not the cat's fault.

chickedychicked · 07/09/2018 18:16

Here he is. Obviously very tired from all that fly catching and watching me clean up that mess.

I know it's partly my fault lynne but why can't DH f*ing do anything the first time he's asked.

What a gorgeous cat! Don't even think of giving him away. Living creatures (however much they can exasperate us) are more important than floors.

keyboardkate · 07/09/2018 18:34

Lovely moggie,

But keep both, you will all survive.

Cats are selfish little creatures, but they remind me of myself sometimes, so I can't judge. Would never have a cat here, we would be far too alike, and that can lead to problems....

Whatififall · 07/09/2018 18:35

He’s hiding his little face in shame!

Whatsthisbear · 07/09/2018 18:35

can't DH f*ing do anything the first time he's asked.

No idea, I frequently ask why can't mine? And why can't he come home from the shops with the correct items? Confused

Cute kitty Smile

Saffkat · 07/09/2018 18:38

I like how your cat is covering his eyes - did he not want to be recognised on here? Smile

ForalltheSaints · 07/09/2018 18:38

I am glad you have forgiven the cat.

TheWernethWife · 07/09/2018 18:41

What a gorgeous cat, I want a ginger boy but have 3 cats already.

chickedychicked · 07/09/2018 18:55

I think he's just had enough of all the commotion and maybe he is a bit ashamed I hope.
He caught that damn fly by the way, I heard the crunch and everything Envy not envy.

whatsthisbear Yes! that too, I send him with an actual list then also text it to him and still there's always an item missing or he decides we need 5 watermelons and 25 packs of salt and vinegar crisps even though NO ONE eats them, himself included.

Poor kitty is having flashbacks and is having to clutch his brow in embarrassment.

Apileofballyhoo · 07/09/2018 19:22

Baking soda and kitchen roll as a present for your DH when he gets home.

sirmione16 · 07/09/2018 19:23

Cat looks apologetic. Keep.

For the oil thing - I used to work in an Italian restaurant and oil spills we were trained to pour salt over it which absorbs it all then sweep up the salt and clean the area :) might help with any excess you've got making it slippy OP

Whatsthisbear · 07/09/2018 19:30

@chickedychicked I sent mine for a birthday card for HIS cousin. He came back with an anniversary card! But yes, I agree, always something missing plus a load of useless stuff added meaning nothing for tea.

@sirmione16 that is useful info to know. I would have gone down the kitchen roll, fairy liquid route so will have to try to remember about the salt.

SplodgeBear1988 · 07/09/2018 19:30

You need a heavy duty degreaser, Screwfix should do it.
