Poll. How many t-shirts does your DH/DP own?

Hamandcheesebaguette · 26/08/2018 12:36

Just moved house and have decided to share a wardrobe instead of having one each to make more space in the bedroom.

DP complaining he doesn't have enough room
So I have just counted. FOURTY TWO T-SHIRT not to mention his monthly t-shirt subscription box so that's one more t-shirt every month. Plus 17 pairs of shorts.

There's just no need.

AIBU to ask how many t-shirts your SO has?!

Far too many. IMO obviously...

MycatsaPirate · 26/08/2018 12:38

Loads. He has about the same as your dp I reckon. I keep trying to throw the older ones out but he says they still have some wear in them.

Well stop buying new ones then.

ChellySmuff · 26/08/2018 12:38

Over 200 easily. He never chucks anything away! Mostly old band tshirts or marvel ones but he still wears them all (and I nick a few to wear for bed)

CoughLaughFart · 26/08/2018 12:39

The ex once counted when he was having a clear-out before moving and he had 72.

DolorestheNewt · 26/08/2018 12:40

Loads. But we've introduced a one-bought, one-in-the-bin rule. It's not always observed, but he has more or less taken it on board as a general principle.

kaytee87 · 26/08/2018 12:43

I've absolutely no idea, he tends to wear shirts and polo shirts more than t-shirts though. He did recently take 2 bin bags of clothes to the charity shop.

I'm interested in what a monthly t-shirt subscription box is?

Icklepup · 26/08/2018 12:43

About 20?

Housecat09 · 26/08/2018 12:43

About 10! Shock

RoboticSealpup · 26/08/2018 12:45

About 50

KevinTheYuccaPlant · 26/08/2018 12:46

Last time I counted, 52, but there are definitely a few more now, plus he's taken up golf and is now collecting golf shirts as well. It's got to the stage where there has to be a certain number in the laundry bin, otherwise there's nowhere to put them.

WisestIsShe · 26/08/2018 12:46

I'd say about 20.

Hamandcheesebaguette · 26/08/2018 12:47

Oh so I'm not alone then!I thought DP was a weirdo t-shirt hoarder!

His subscription box is he pays £10 And every month gets a random t-shirt send to him based on his interests Smile

I've never counted. How many items of clothing do you own by the way OP?

I think sharing a wardrobe is a bad idea by the sounds of it.

MsHopey · 26/08/2018 12:50

Over 100. All the same Primark £2.50 ones in about 4 different colours!!!!
Just put half in the loft to come back out next time he says he's run out Hmm

AwdBovril · 26/08/2018 12:51

I think our DHs must all be related. Mine also has far more than any normal person could reasonably require. At least 60, I think. Ones with bands on, comics, the cookie monster etc, TV stuff (GOT, the IT crowd, etc) festivals he went to... I think he's got maybe 1 plain t-shirt. Drives me mad as he keeps acquiring more - every time we go into any shop that might sell them, he's scouting for t-shirts. Or music. Hmm

JoanFrenulum · 26/08/2018 12:54

About eleventy million. I could deal with that but he never puts the bastard things away, and nobody else can do it for himyes he's a grown man he should put his own damn shirts awaybecause he's got this weird filing system, house shirts and sleep shirts and dancing shirts and smart shirts and cooking shirts and who the fuck knows what shirts, and I cannot be arsed to learn which category each shirt goes in.

Mammyloveswine · 26/08/2018 12:55

Mine has about 5 and 2 pairs of jeans... a pair of trackies, 5 decent shirts, 2 smart white shirts, a dark blue suit and waistcoat, a smart black suit and a pinstripe suit. That's about it! I on other hand have 3 double wardrobes thst I need to sort through...

yellowbeans · 26/08/2018 12:59

3 😂

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 26/08/2018 12:59

Roughly 150. He's been planning on a clear out for a while, but it hasn't happened yet. Mind you, I was probably as bad with tops until I had a huge, ruthless clear out a couple of months ago!

Kewqueue · 26/08/2018 13:00

One, I think. He never wears t-shirts.

AngelsAckiz · 26/08/2018 13:05

25,000,000. His wardrobe is bigger that mine. I have a collection of t-shirts too, but he has loads!
Tbf he hasn't bought any for ages now.

Hamandcheesebaguette · 26/08/2018 13:06

My wardrobe rail is only half full! Although pyjamas are my weakness.

DP also has a filing system for his t shirts which I can't work out...

Your DH is a mere novice.
When we moved in together (15 years ago) I counted DH's T shirts and he had 124. I "made" him reduce this number to 50, but since then he's definitely bought more T shirts than have "left" so I would suspect we are back up to close that number again.

topcat2014 · 26/08/2018 13:16

I have about 5, for gym/running.

Never wear a T Shirt as 'day' wear.

Have about 10 short sleeve shirts with buttons etc.

lizzybennett1926 · 26/08/2018 13:16

Um about 12
