To think this is disgusting? (Food)

Today I went to my normal cafe to buy a bite to eat for lunch. I usually get a cold pasta it's creamy with chicken, peppers and sweet corn. It's usually in some sort of cold carbonara sauce, quite yummy.

Today I visited and sat down to eat, noticed the pasta looked a little bit different

They had used mayonnaise instead of the creamy sauce I mean lots of mayonnaise.... not just a dollop to make the pasta moist.

Aibu to think that that was absolutely disgusting and on no terms ever should you substitute white pasta sauce for mayonnaise? Had to leave it...

Mayo sounds normal for a ‘creamy’ pasta salad. Cold white sauce or carbonara sauce just goes all into one stodgy mass as it cools.

If I was doing a cold pasta salad, I would use a mixture of low fat mayo, and half fat sour cream, which is lighter than just mayo. I do it for potato salad too.

Cold carbonara sounds absolutely rank. I thought everyone used mayonnaise in pasta salad!

Those lunch style pasta boxes will have mayo in.

So did I *Butfirst. Though I don’t like Hellmans for that, as I find it too rich and overpowering. Low-fat own brand does the trick for me.

Yeah, both sound disgusting. I'm not really a fan of cold pasta salads. Mind you, at least mayo is supposed to be eaten cold.

carbonara isn't any kind of creamy sauce though? There is no cream or milk in it, its eggs and pecorino and pancetta.

Mayo is absolutely disgusting and vile, so YABU. I'd have been livid if I'd unsuspectingly bought a pot of mayo pasta.
