Neighbour dumping washing machine by her house

I'm fully prepared to be told i'm being a cunt.

I live in a row of terraces - neighbour next door has an end terrace. Neighbour has had her of washing machine dumped around the side of the house in full view for the past 2 months. It costs £15 for the council to collect it. Garden is also overgrown (they use the back as a dog shit run) - I doubt they clean up the shit. Neighbour works pt and is home a lot so has time.

It just looks like a big eyesore as you can see it as soon as you come into the cul-de-sac. It looks fucking terrible.

Depends. I've just moved a sofa, a bed and chest of drawers to the front of my house ready for them to be collected in a week. It looks unsightly but I don't have much choice.

If they were there for months and months then fair enough but a couple of weeks is ok in my view

Im surprised it hasnt been taken for scrap? my sisters was gone within half an hour of putting it out. no way would I pay!

Maybe ask them if they've arranged collection for it. My local council takes weeks to come and collect something so it can take a bit of time.

Do you have a scrap metal van that comes round your area ? Maybe if you see one let them know about the machine . Anything like this round my way isn't out there for long.

Contact the council and say it's been dumped. I used to live on the end of a terrace with a blind wall at the end (no windows) and people were always dumping crap there. Annoying, as the local tip was minutes away. Anyway, they will usually come and collect as street clearance.

You are not bring a cunt. I guess the garden is her own business , but leaving furniture outside the door for weeks on end is skanky.

You can ring your local council and let them know there’s random junk outside on the street. They’ll come and take it away (eventually)

Does she have a car?
Does she have a spare £15?
Perhaps she has a disability and can't move it.
It is clearly pissing you off.
Why don't you be a good neighbour and over to help her move it?
Or would you rather just judge?

She has a car and a lot of young family members (male and female) that come over often. I dont have a car and wouldnt be able to lift it obviously.

Phone council tell them its been dumped. If your neighbours are a bit iffy just say you dont know how it got there but it needs moving.

There's always scrap collectors asking on our local FB page...tip them there's one to collect.

I'm replacing my fridge and freezer on Saturday. I'll put the old ones at the property line and I bet dollars to donuts that they'll be gone for scrap by the end of the weekend.

If they're not I'll arrange/pay for the council to come and collect them.

But yes, if it's not actually on her property, ring the council and tell them it's been fly-tipped.

I’ve just been told that it will cost me £240 to remove a double bed and bedroom suite from my flat. Ha! Free to whoever will collect (habitat, old but fine) post will cost me nothing.

I had various stuff outside my house (on my property) for about 5 weeks. It was too bug for my car and I had a council pick up arranged but that was their lead time. One of my neighbours is selling and I saw them pointing and muttering about it but not much else I could do.

Its not fly tipping if it is on her property.
She may be a slovenly mare, or she might not be able to move it.
It doesn't always pay to rush to judgement
That's all I'm saying.
As some PP have said, sometimes you have no choice.

Amazed it hasn’t been taken by the scrappys tbh.. I put an old oven out a few weeks ago and it was gone in an hour. Maybe they don’t come to your area.

Could it be worth reporting on Fixmystreet.com? I've reported a few incidents of flytipping and dog mess on there and my local (London) council were very responsive - the mess was gone in days!

I'm also surprised it's still there. We had a new washing machine last year and put the old one out in the front garden ready for the delivery people to take away and dispose of it (we paid extra as it was still cheaper than getting our council to do it) And within minutes I heard a noise in the front and when I opened the front door, some guy was taking it from the drive . The plumber said that often these people hang around the plumbing/builders merchants in the morning and then follow them back to the job to see what's being dumped.
Anyway, not sure you can do much about it as things stand - our neighbour a few doors away moved out over a year ago and the casing for her washing machine is still in the front garden. Our council will only get involved if it's likely to attract vermin.

If it's on her property then it's her right to have it there if she wants. IMO as far as neighbour annoyances go, rusty white goods outside barely even registers.

If it's on public land or someone else's property then it's fly tipping though and the neighbour responsible is a cheeky mare.
