To ask if I’m a millennial?

Pretty much this out of curiosity. Google is conflicting. I was born 1991 but I didn’t do much in the 90s being 9 when it ended.

You are based on when you were born

BertrandRusselI · 21/08/2018 15:53

You’re Generation Z

LadyFidgetAndHerHandbag · 21/08/2018 15:54

I'm afraid so. Welcome to misery!

IChooseTheHat · 21/08/2018 15:56

Great 🙈 I was never sure if I was too old to be one

PinkAvocado · 21/08/2018 15:56

81-96 are millennials.

nannyCrumb · 21/08/2018 15:56

There's one main way of sorting millennial from everyone else.

Do you believe effort is more important than attainment?

SnuggyBuggy · 21/08/2018 15:57

I think nanny crumb sums it up Grin

LadyFidgetAndHerHandbag · 21/08/2018 16:01

I have the misfortune to be a Xennial - we can remember the dial-up noise and grunge music but are priced out of most housing markets and don't enjoy the job stability and health of Gen-Xers.

IChooseTheHat · 21/08/2018 16:02

Effort for me. I don’t expect anything handed to me but that might be due to my upbringing which I’m thankful for. I do know people who I’ve worked with in the past expect to do very little!

OP posts:
Crunchymum · 21/08/2018 16:04

What are people who are born after 1996??? Shock

IChooseTheHat · 21/08/2018 16:06

Ladyfidget I feel the same I’m actually glad about my age I think. Outside playing was seen as better than computer games and very little social media

OP posts:
SnuggyBuggy · 21/08/2018 16:06

Post 1996 would be generation Z

AnExcellentUsername · 21/08/2018 16:08

People born after 1996 are zygotes.

Aye, so which generation is it that can be identified for their constant use of lazy, inaccurate and sneering stereotypes to categorise an entire generation of people who will never be able to enjoy the free education, more affordable housing and more generous pensions that they had?

Asking for a friend.

OutPinked · 21/08/2018 16:14

Yep you are, as am I. Welcome to the club Wink. Post ‘96 is gen z.

nannyCrumb · 21/08/2018 16:20

@EthelThePiratesDaughter

No idea. Labels are something millenials like.

I was born in '68 if that helps.

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 21/08/2018 16:21

Labels are something millenials like.

Like avocados, flat whites, Instagram and whining about their lot in life, I assume?

/sarcasm

nannyCrumb · 21/08/2018 16:25

/sarcasm

Yes

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 21/08/2018 16:26

I can't decide whether you're being deliberately or unintentionally ironic.

Wishiwasa · 21/08/2018 16:28

So my dad is the silent generation, my mum is a baby boomer, my sisters and brother are generation x and I'm a millennial. Presumably my children (2 and 4) are generation z? Love how we can invent even more ways to bring in random stereotypes for how people should be. I'm also Pisces..... Wink

nannyCrumb · 21/08/2018 16:33

@EthelThePiratesDaughter

My first post was neither and my subsequent posts are best described as 'goady'.

I see you have Alanis' understanding of irony.

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 21/08/2018 16:46

Erm, no. Your first post was goady and your subsequent post was either accidentally ot deliberately ironic.

PinkBuffalo · 21/08/2018 16:51

I found out I was a millennial by accident when I looked up the definition lol.
I don't feel like one and can't relate to any of the stories going round about them. Never tried avocado, don't know what a flat white is.

SoyDora · 21/08/2018 16:53

Definitely not too old to be one, I was born in ‘84 and am apparently a millennial!
