What you’d eat in a day. I’m low carbing at the moment and having food fantasies... mine would be:

Breakfast - sourdough toast with salted butter, poached eggs, smoked salmon and avocado with white coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Lunch - a multitude of various cheeses, bread, salad, savoury tarts, quiches, fresh fruit... basically a buffet.

Afternoon tea with cakes

Dinner - fresh seafood, maybe a rare steak, chips, potatoes dauphnoise, green beans, asparagus and some kind of decadent dessert like creme brûlée or pannacotta or chocolate tart. Cocktails, Champagne, liqueurs and more coffee.

Oh god I miss carbs Sad

Buffets and feasts give me heartburn Grin

So my "fantasy" is to either never get heartburn (or fried and fatty food or creamy rich puddings are out) or to eat pretty much what I eat now (I eat carbs, but also veg and protein. Looove sourdough with butter too)

HollyGoLoudly1 · 20/08/2018 17:17

Mmmm potatoes dauphiniose... I'm suddenly starving 😂 A whole tiger bread baguette with proper butter followed by an entire Colin the Caterpillar cake would be near the top of my list Cake

Peanutbuttercups21 · 20/08/2018 17:17

Toasted sourdough with salted President butter to be preciseGrin

Mimmim112 · 20/08/2018 17:18

Ok yes none of this fantasy food results in heartburn/indigestion/unwanted weight gain or other ill effects!

Breakfast Morrisons big fry up

Lunch Club sandwich on lovely granery bread and thick cut chips and mayo

Tea maybe a big portion of lasagne? I'm not sure, I'll have to think on that one.

ChangerChangerson · 20/08/2018 17:47

I love a Chinese takeaway or I'd go for pick n mix but not the crap Candy King stuff you get nowadays in the supermarkets and cinema, I want the old pick n mix where you were charged 1p, 2p or 5p per sweet.

Singingtherapy · 20/08/2018 17:48

Breakfast - stack of pancakes with maple syrup

Mid morning - cappuccino and a kit kat

Lunch - cheese and pickle sandwich, posh crisps, large slice of cake

Dinner - roast, followed by cheese and biscuits

Babybearsporij · 20/08/2018 18:13

Breakfast - I love full English but also love continental pastries and also hot buttered toast and crumpets. I can't choose. As long as there's loads of coffee.

Lunches - Baked sweet potato with houmous & bistro salad with beetroot & balsamic dressing. Or cheese toasties with branston to dip. Or ploughman's lunch.

Dinner - I'm easy. Pre-drinks of Aperol spritz, martini & lemonade or gin & bitter lemon. Maybe something mexican or pulled pork & smoked paprika sweet potato fries, corn on the cob & coleslaw. Followed by either cheesecake or eton mess with fresh fruit and ice cream. And Baileys, loads of it.

Throughout the day, good coffee, endless tea, proper vimto and Dr Pepper. Plus the odd chocolate bar and some nuts maybe.

Merryoldgoat · 20/08/2018 18:23

Chocolate.

Curry with naan bread.

Cake. Chocolate and vanilla.

I’m also dieting and over 3 stone down but some days it’s so hard.

DanglyEarOrnaments · 20/08/2018 18:26

I'm low-carbing too so:

Breakfast - bacon and egg on white toast

Lunch - Chip butty from a great chippy

Tea - Tagliatelle carbonara with crusty french bread and butter and whole bottle of wine.

Hmmm bit of a theme there of 'wanting what I'm not allowed' Grin

On the plus side I do like the foods I can have but would like to have those ones more!

DanglyEarOrnaments · 20/08/2018 18:27

Oh yes OR a great big Indian Take out with sides, popadoms and everything!

OneOfTheGrundys · 20/08/2018 18:28

Just buttery wedges of white toast.
All day.

BillyAndTheSillies · 20/08/2018 18:29

McDonald's. I eat healthily 90% of the time but I'm a total McDonald's addict.
Big Tasty with bacon large meal and 5 selects three times a day if I could.
If I was feeling a bit classier, the wild garlic risotto from Galvin La Chapelle.

cheesemongery · 20/08/2018 18:32

Breakfast - full english with toast and butter.

Lunch - roast lamb dinner with goose fat crispy roast potatoes and giant homemade Yorkshire puddings.

Evening 'snack' lasagne oozing with bechamel and and a brown cheese topping, followed by a huge bowl of carbonara, washed down with a strong bottle of red.

I could never actually eat all of that in one day, but it would be a great day if I could Grin

cheesemongery · 20/08/2018 18:33

I forgot to add Domino's pizza for elevenses...

Shrekless · 20/08/2018 18:34

Breakfast. Large full English with white (bread) toast and real butter, breakfast MUST come with black pudding...And a bloody Mary. 😏

Snacks: dark chocolate chip cookies. Box of fresh raspberries.

topsyanddim · 20/08/2018 18:34

B - pancakes with ice cream and maple syrup, pastries or similar

L - McDonalds, apple danish

D - seafood to start, steak and chips, lots of ice cream

Snacks - jam donuts, pink water biscuits, pick and mix, snowballs, custard tarts

Champagne, cocktails and wine

Do we ever feel sick?!

ACatsNoHelpWithThat · 20/08/2018 18:42

OP if you don't mind cooking and arn't allergic to almonds you can make low carb versions of a lot of your fantasy menu. Most of the almond subs don't taste nutty.

Sourdough toast - 90 second low carb bread or a fathead bagel.
Quiche - just use a ground almond crust.
Fruit - strawberries and raspberries are relatively low carb.
Afternoon tea - low carb scones made with ground almonds, serve with clotted cream and chia seed raspberry jam. Sandwiches made with Livlife lower carb bread from Waitrose. Plenty of keto cake and brownie recipes online.
Chips - halloumi fries.
Dauphinoise can be made with celeriac.
Creme brulee is easy to adapt to low carb - use a sweetener such as erythritol for the custard and top with inulin which creates a crispy caramelised top like burnt sugar!

To answer your actual question, I'd eat haagen dazs in unlimited quantities!

LightDrizzle · 20/08/2018 18:46

Breakfast - Eggs Benedict, freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee

Lunch - tagliatelle with Alba truffle, a green salad, a raspberry confection by Pierre Herme.

Dinner - lobster salad to start, then aged rib-eye with bearnaise sauce and pommes alumettes, chocolate soufflé, a really, really top cognac

Great wines to go with the above.

Walkers Cheese & Onion on demand alongside Charbonnel & Walker pink Champagne truffles.

PinkBuffalo · 20/08/2018 18:46

I love chips and would eat them every day. As it is, I limit myself to oven chips once a week.

DwangelaForever · 20/08/2018 18:48

Some really gorgeous hot Siracha chicken wings 😍😍😍 followed by a nice steak with broccoli, onion rings and skinny chips with peppercorn sauce.

Bread and butter. lurpak with any sort of bread you can imagine - Scottish plain, tiger bread, French baton, Irish soda bread - I’m not fussy any bread will do

borlottibeans · 20/08/2018 18:52

Cheese. All the cheese. I'd get a bit of variety throughout the day by having some on toast, and some on fancy crackers. Maybe a cheesecake with fresh raspberries for pudding.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 20/08/2018 18:55

Breakfast - helping myself to loads of platefuls from a really good hotel breakfast buffet

Lunch - Vietnamese noodle soup, fried tofu and beef salad

Dinner - macaroni cheese and ice cream
