What you’d eat in a day. I’m low carbing at the moment and having food fantasies... mine would be:

Breakfast - sourdough toast with salted butter, poached eggs, smoked salmon and avocado with white coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Lunch - a multitude of various cheeses, bread, salad, savoury tarts, quiches, fresh fruit... basically a buffet.

Afternoon tea with cakes

Dinner - fresh seafood, maybe a rare steak, chips, potatoes dauphnoise, green beans, asparagus and some kind of decadent dessert like creme brûlée or pannacotta or chocolate tart. Cocktails, Champagne, liqueurs and more coffee.

Oh god I miss carbs Sad

Cheese, seafood, and really delicious bread with premium butter.

Mimmim112 · 20/08/2018 19:14

@ACatsNoHelpWithThat thank you that’s incredibly helpful! Celeriac dauphinoise sounds great!

Nutella straight from the jar.

One for breakfast. One for dinner. One for tea.

With a cheeky top up dessert spoon as a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack.

Your choices sound AMAZING. I want exactly what you're having Smile

AnxiousPeg · 20/08/2018 19:26

(except I didn't know what all of it was - but I love the bits I do know, so assume you have impeccable taste...)

ifigoup · 20/08/2018 19:26

Waffles with blueberries and syrup, and creamy full-fat lemon curd yoghurt. Crispy bacon on the side. Caramel latte.

Steak or fried chicken with chips. Garlic butter. Really sweet little green peas.

Chocolate mousse, chocolate brownies, butter pecan ice-cream.

Grimbles · 20/08/2018 19:27

Another low-carber here as well

B. Marmite on white toast - as much as I could eat
L. Crisps, with a side of crisps
D. Full on fried rice/noodle blow out from wagamama and lots of 🍺 🍺 🍺!

OhNoes · 20/08/2018 19:29

Breakfast ~ homemade version of a bacon & egg McMuffin (nicer, crispier bacon and a well toasted muffin with two slices of cheese) X2

Lunch ~ Christmas dinner, but with a massive Yorkshire pudding, followed by sherry trifle (with extra sherry)

Dinner ~ I actually would like your dinner OP. Sounds perfect Grin

ACatsNoHelpWithThat · 20/08/2018 19:30

@Mimmim112 no worries. Check out the recipe threads on the low carb bootcamp section of Mumsnet which includes a delicious quiche/tart recipe by BIWI and also celeriac dauphinois.

Breakfast: full English with free range bacon from the farm shop up the road and a pork sausage from the butcher down the road, poached eggs from my friend's hens and endless double-strength flat whites.

Elevenses: hummus and Ritz crackers, olives, a few tiny tomatoes

Lunch: jacket potato with chilli and cheese or home-made burger and chips from my local

Afternoon snack: doughnuts, jam and custard, several of each

Dinner: smoked salmon, a roast of some sort, with loads of veg, which must include cauliflower cheese, some sort of creamy pudding (creme brulee, pannacotta, rice pudding, cassata ice cream, Eton mess, creme caramel, atholl brose) , cheese and biscuits

Bedtime snack: toast, with peanut butter or marmite, and an apple

I'd be so huge I'd have my own postcode and so unfit I'd have to have castors fitted to move about. And I doubt if I'd live more than a year.

Eliza9917 · 20/08/2018 19:30

Bacon sandwich for breakfast, or a full English, including chips.

Sandwich/pastry/wrap etc, crisps, chocolate bar & fizzy drink for lunch.

Pizza/kebab/mcds/KFC/Chinese/Indian etc for dinner.

Snacks of cake/crisps/sweets.

I'm on a diet/healthy eating kick so craving all the crap too.

Pettyspaghetti · 20/08/2018 19:34

Well I’ve had a “lifestyle change” so I’ve cut out a lot of food over the past 5 months. My perfect food day would be:

Breakfast- McDonald’s double sausage and egg McMuffin, with pancakes and syrup.

Lunch- jacket potato with cheesy beans

Dinner- 16oz (at least) steak cooked medium-rare, with chunky chips and peppercorn sauce.

Dessert- the thickest, creamiest cheesecake you’ve ever seen.

Snacks- scones with jam and clotted cream, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Doritos.

I really want to have all of that on my birthday but it wouldn’t be worth the lbs I’d put on Sad

Elledouble · 20/08/2018 19:41

Breakfast would be avocado and runny poached egg on toast. With hash browns.

Some kind of spicy ramen or pho for lunch with tofu and veg and maybe another runny egg on top.

Curry for tea. Definitely a paneer dish and a dal, with proper flaky, buttery paratha like you get in India.

Sourdough bread and fuckloads of salted butter as a snack.

JynxaSmoochum · 20/08/2018 19:41

In a world without intolerances I'd feast upon prawns, dairy (rich delicious ice cream), white bread and the odd chicken and mushroom pot noodle (drat thee soya). I'd be able to wash it down with lots of alcohol with no bloating after.

HelpmeobiMN · 20/08/2018 19:46

Breakfast would be buttery sourdough, smashed avocado with chives and two soft boiled eggs sliced on top, all sprinkled with sea salt. Lashings of hot coffee with cream and brown sugar.

Lunch would be a falafel wrap with spicy peanut sauce and more avocado.

Afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, brownies, scones with cream and jam and big pots of tea.

Dinner would be a rich, creamy smoked haddock risotto with a rocket, lemon and Parmesan salad and ciabatta. Followed by a tarte tatin with homemade custard for desert and then a cheeseboard.

dontforgettofloss · 20/08/2018 20:01

Breakfast- Fry up- bacon, sausages, fried eggs, mushrooms, black pudding, baked beans, fried bread, hash browns
Lunch- Lasagne, with salad, chips and garlic bread
Dinner-Roast dinner- chicken, stuffing, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, broccoli, peas, carrots, bread sauce

checkingforballoons · 20/08/2018 20:03

Our local Nepalese restaurant does big spring rolls stuffed with noodles. I would just have an unlimited supply of those. Mmmmm. Carbs.

2beesornot2beesthatisthehoney · 20/08/2018 20:06

Real custard I would swim in it if I could !
Yep swimming pool full of finest proper custard made within eggs and cream with proper vanilla black bits in it

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 20/08/2018 20:07

Breakfast: full English
Mid morning: caramel coffee and a pastry (pain au raisin I’m thinking)
Lunch: fish and chips
Dinner: Chinese takeaway
Dessert: pic n mix

This would have been the same when I was a teenager, glad to know my tastes haven’t matured in over a decade!

Saggital · 20/08/2018 20:08

Same as you OP but exclude the afternoon cakes.

ThistleAmore · 20/08/2018 20:11

Salt and chilli tofu, buffalo cauliflower and asparagus drenched in really good, salted butter, until I was so full I cried. ;)

SavouryPart · 20/08/2018 20:12

Ooooooooo OP! What a great thread title!!!

Breakfast : 4 slices of marmalade on toast with lashings of coffee.
Lunch/Dinner: Roast beef, potatos, veg. A muffin. Half a bottle of champagne/prosecco.

What I actually had today - 2 slices of marmalade of toast with two coffees.
Lunch/dinner - half a bottle of prosecco, brown rice salad and halloumi cheese, half a muffin.

I think the main fantasy is cake and home-made biscuits every afternoon Sad!

Frosty6611 · 20/08/2018 20:16

Breakfast - a selection of pastries

Lunch - burger with loads of toppings, huge portion of fries and a thick milkshake made with ice cream.

Dinner - Some sort of takeaway like chinese, fish and chips or Indian.

I’d snack on chocolate, sweets and crisps all day too.

(I’m currently on a very healthy diet and can’t have any of the above at the moment 😞)

SavouryPart · 20/08/2018 20:16

I forgot McDonalds!

I forgot Marmite on Toast!

Roasts and more roasts.

Curries and more curries.

buckets of top quality Granola (home made even).

Gosh I'm a greedy little minx!!!! Smile.

Never in the history of the world has there been such great food available effortlessly. How anyone stays under a size 14 is a minor miracle to me. I'm a buxom 16!

formerbabe · 20/08/2018 20:23

Breakfast would be a bacon sandwich and orange juice followed by a vanilla crown pastry with coffee.

Lunch would be roast beef with all the trimmings.

Dinner would be a Chinese takeaway.

Boxes of very expensive Belgium truffles would be consumed between the meals!
