Who hasn't had an ounce of sugar today yet this must be about the 8th time I've been up to her to try and get her to sleep and each time she is more wired than the last.
Send help.
If she wakes her older brother up that will top me off Shock

Can you take mine too?

Ta!!

UnderHisEyeAndUpYourArse · 19/08/2018 21:36

Have you got room for my two? Thankfully they're back at school tomorrow Grin

Bambamber · 19/08/2018 21:38
Grin
happinessischocolate · 19/08/2018 21:40

I used to lie down on the bed with mine, I'd be asleep before they were 😁 then I'd wake up an hour later and come back downstairs feeling refreshed.

BuntyII · 19/08/2018 21:41

Funny I've had this the last few nights. Is it a full moon or something Confused

CheesecakeAddict · 19/08/2018 21:43

What no. I am constantly told it will get easier and here you are telling me I will be fighting bedtime for at least 2.5 more years 😭

Meatbadger · 19/08/2018 21:45

This has made me laugh. I’m on holiday with my 4 year old and 2 year old and they’re still up as I just can’t face the battle tonight. They’re sharing a room here which they’re not used to (why did I think that would be a good idea?!) and bedtime is just awful. You have my sympathies.

Whohasnickedmyvodka · 19/08/2018 21:46

You can have my 2.8 month old to tip as well refusing to sleep last night it was 12.30 am and still awake just before 7am 😢😢😢 no nap today and still awake

Stormwhale · 19/08/2018 21:48

You can have mine too. Dd (4yo) has been bonkers today! Everything has been so over the top and destructive. She can't just walk somewhere, she has to jump, roll, twirl etc. She can't just pick something up, she has had to grab it, shake it, throw it. She has knocked things over everywhere and constantly made so much noise. By bedtime I told her I love her to pieces but asked her please not to be so annoying tomorrow! She laughed, so I don't think she is traumatised.

SheepyFun · 19/08/2018 21:51

Sell her on ebay, collection only. That way, you don't have to leave the house and you make a profit!

You can tell we've had fun with DD over the years....

RandomMess · 19/08/2018 21:58

The good news is eventually you go to bed and leave them too it...

Fly tipping is still very appealing though 🧐

Summerisdone · 19/08/2018 22:04

I feel like throwing my 3yo in the wheelie bin most nights when it comes to bed time, I obviously never have though...because he'd just climb back out and give me another excuse why he can't go sleep yet Angry

I think fly tipping isn't a bad shout though Grin

Whitelisbon · 19/08/2018 22:06

Don't put them on Facebook marketplace, they frown upon that sort of thing and tend to give you a weeks ban.
Or so a friend says anyway. Wasn't me, honest Grin

LuluJakey1 · 19/08/2018 22:13

DH is sitting on the sofa with DS (3 1/2) wide awake next to him. 16m old DD is on my knee chuntering. Can I send both if them?

dontticklethetoad · 19/08/2018 22:17

Oh my 3.8 has been horrific for the last week.
I won't tell if you don't...

Newyearnewbrain · 19/08/2018 22:22

Eugh. Three was awful. The fuckers nearly did for me. Don't worry OP they grown out of it and then all they do is eat.

ipswichwitch · 19/08/2018 22:27

Mines 4.8yo and shows no signs of getting any better! Ok so he’s being assessed for asd, but bloody hell, it’s no wonder I’m going grey! He used to at least sleep through, but this last 6 weeks or so has been getting into our bed every night to play with my hair and kick me in the face (not deliberately, I think!). Helpfully, this has coincided with his big brother FINALLY sleeping through

WhereIsBlueRabbit · 19/08/2018 22:28

I threatened to leave mine outside a shop today with a sign saying free to a good home. The nice man in the shop thought I was joking....

TotHappy · 19/08/2018 22:32

Hmm my two year old has wen doing this the last few days too... Chattering and relating at bedtime, refusing naps... Wtf is going on?

Some trick of the Demon Headmaster affecting all the children in the land methinks?

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 19/08/2018 22:36

Last night 3yo DD did that thing where she interrupted every third sodding word of her bedtime story with inane questions and remarks, you know "is that a cat, Mummy? Is it really? Does it have four legs? Does a spider have eight legs? How many legs do I have?" Etc etc until I was about to chuck the book across the room, whereupon she said, very patiently,

"All right, Mummy, now we've had a nice little chat. Can you just read the story now, please?"

OH MY FUCKING JESUS. and breathe.....

happinessischocolate · 19/08/2018 23:50

I used to say to mine "what am I going to do with you?" "I know I'll put you in the dustbin", I said it in front of my Mum once and she said she used to say that to me, I didn't know where I'd for it from till then 😂

SinkGirl · 20/08/2018 03:21

Could we do a job lot on freecycle maybe? My twins have become really crappy sleepers lately, and I had to give one of them a load of sugar before bed as he has low blood sugars and wasn’t doing well - that was never going to end well, so here I am a couple of hours into a sit in on their floor, hoping they go back to sleep eventually.

JackReacherReader · 20/08/2018 03:24

Put them on Etsy because you made them..

katielouise3 · 20/08/2018 03:56

Is it a full moon this past few days? (Can't tell because of cloud.)

I wonder if that's why I can't sleep a night right now?! Sad

ProseccoPoppy · 20/08/2018 03:57

DH offered to “part exchange” our toddler in a shop once, during a particularly trying shopping trip. The sales assistant (who it turned out had neither children nor a sense of humour) looked genuinely horrified. As DH left the man’s colleague was barely managing to keep a straight face while patiently explaining to the original shop assistant that it was a joke.
