CFN & Parking

Sorry - another parking thread! (My first though!)

Ok, background. I live on a new build estate. Every house has allocated parking. Most houses have 1 space, but a couple of us have 2.

Parking has been a nightmare since we moved in. Mainly due to CFN who doesn't drive, but have their numerous visitors park wherever they like.

Several times a week I have to knock on their door and ask them to move their visitors car - which they do, but with no remorse and in their own time.

So I come back this morning to find another car in my 2nd space - again!! I'm fed up keep knocking on their door, so I've left a note and blocked them in.

There's a supermarket car park 60 seconds away, and when I have visitors that's where I tell them to park. I wouldn't dream of telling them to park in neighbours spaces.

I used to have a penguin bollard in that space, until the little shits CFN's children kicked it down and removed it.

I'm at a loss as to what else I can do - AIBU to block this car in? (No idea if it does belong to CFN this time)

Diagram duly attached.

settles in and awaits blocking in reaction update

Ignoramusgiganticus · 19/08/2018 10:57

Of course yanbu. It's not going tho end well though.

GabriellaMontez · 19/08/2018 10:57

Aren't penguin bollards concrete in? That's what you need. Nothing else will so.

Sorry you have such shits.

Nobody should apologise for posting a cfn or parking thread- they are my favourite😁

ApolloandDaphne · 19/08/2018 11:01

I think blocking them in is the only sensible option.

QOD · 19/08/2018 11:02

I’m devastated as I don’t understand your diagram

BruceAndNosh · 19/08/2018 11:03

Am I the only one wondering where poor old NDN5 parks?

4TeensAndABaby · 19/08/2018 11:04

The bollard was concreted in. But teenage boys swinging on it over a few days constantly, actually wore down the 4 inch metal screws and it came out Angry

There are more spaces to the left, but didn’t include them!

What did CFN neighbour say about their kids damaging your property?

TopBitchoftheWitches · 19/08/2018 11:06

🍿

CarrieBlu · 19/08/2018 11:09

YNBU at all. Someone parked across my driveway once, blocking my husband’s car in. So I duly parked across them and blocked them in Grin, went to bed and ignored the frantic knocking in the morning and all their shouting about needing to get to work, then watched with great mirth as they had to call a taxi. They never did it again!

Longdistance · 19/08/2018 11:10

I don’t understand the diagram either 🤷🏼‍♀️

HotTeaCup · 19/08/2018 11:10

10 out of 10 for your diagram. Do they know it's your space? Is there a sign saying "Reserved Apt X" in front of the space? And a sign saying Clamping in operation. £XXX release fee.

GabriellaMontez · 19/08/2018 11:11

Oh dear... new bollards needed. Cctv. Did you contact the police about the damage to your property? video it? Thats awful.

4TeensAndABaby · 19/08/2018 11:12

CFN struggles with her children. She’s a single parent of 5, and they range from 5-16. She’s constantly shouting at them, but most of the time they wander the streets causing mischief.

She’s apologises for their behaviour (keying my car, breaking bollards, throwing stones at the windows), but nothing changes.

4TeensAndABaby · 19/08/2018 11:14

Sorry, I failed with the diagram. The big blocks are the houses. Does that help?!

CCTV I have. I’ve shown her. She says she will pay, but doesn’t. Not contacted police as was hoping to keep it civil.

Call the police. Criminal damage

EmeraldVillage · 19/08/2018 11:15

Who haven’t you reported their criminal damage to the police if they are keying your car and breaking your belongings?

GabriellaMontez · 19/08/2018 11:17

Civil?!! They sound way beyond civil...

Do you really think they'll turn civil one day?

inabeautifulplace · 19/08/2018 11:18

Good diagram, very linear :) I'd go with some colour coding next ;)

Of course YANBU. You have to make it inconvenient for their visitors to park there, or they'll continue to do so. 1 or 2 block ins and the message will get through.

To be fair, is it obviously allocated parking? Hopefully the conversation will go:

Why have you blocked me in?
These are all allocated spaces. You can park over there.
Sorry, will do next time.

If it is obvious, then it's a step down from sitting in your lounge because your front door was unlocked. I am hoping you'd kick them out of the house if this happened!

ChooseHappiness919 · 19/08/2018 11:18

Ummm... police now! Non emergency line of courses This is what neighbourhood police teams are for!

ChooseHappiness919 · 19/08/2018 11:19

I should add that I am referring to the ongoing issues with the kids causing damage. The police won't car much about her parking
