Help! DD taking nappy off in cot!

Sorry I'm posting for traffic as we've run out of ideas!

DD has just turned 2 and has started striping off and weeing in her cot. We've tried putting knickers over nappies and pull ups to try and make.it more difficult to get off but she's like Hudini!
I've been told to tape over the tabs but she doesn't open the tabs. She just pulls the nappy down like a pair of knickers.

Please help. It's becoming less funny! Not that we show that it's funny to DD!

Swimming costume over nappy under pjs?
Faff, not great if it’s hot, but might break the habit?
Or get all in one pjs that zip up and put on back to front.

Kittykatmacbill · 12/08/2018 19:55

Keep her in popper underneath vests with trousers / leggings over the top. H&M and m&s do 2-3 size ones but you may need to order specially.

Monkeymonstermum · 12/08/2018 19:55

Find vests big enough for her. Frugi are large size and I think do 2-3. Mothercare used to do 2-3.
If she doesn’t like wearing a vest tell her she won’t need to if she doesn’t remove the nappy...

TheWineDarkSea · 12/08/2018 19:55

Have you tried sleepsuit on backwards?

Monkeymonstermum · 12/08/2018 19:56

Cross post with a few others! Vests all the way!

TheConstantMoaner · 12/08/2018 19:56

Can she take off onesies / babygrows ? Maybe it’s time to start potty training?

LakieLady · 12/08/2018 19:57

Braces?

celtiethree · 12/08/2018 19:57

Do you know when she does it? Is it in the morning when she wakes up? Perhaps she’s showing signs that she’s ready to be potty trained?

ElspethFlashman · 12/08/2018 19:57

You put the sleepsuit on backwards. Cut a slit in the neck if it's too tight.

fuzzywuzzy · 12/08/2018 19:58

My 14 month old does this, we’ve taken to putting vests on her with popper buttons at the bottom. Has to be vets with short sleeves the strappy vests she just takes her arms out of the straps and takes off.

pastabest · 12/08/2018 19:58

Maybe she's trying to tell you she's ready to start potty training?

youarenotkiddingme · 12/08/2018 20:01

Those all in one swim suits are great for this!
Put it on backwards Grin

SinkGirl · 12/08/2018 20:06

La redoute sell sleepsuits that fasten at the back

80sMum · 12/08/2018 20:11

Agree with PPs, a swimsuit with a zip-up back should sort it!

Chrystal1982 · 12/08/2018 20:13

Sleepsuits on backwards? My eldest did this often with dirty nappies too (ASD) we used dungarees on backwards. Those all in one swimsuits with the zip up the back would probably work?

VelociraptorRex · 12/08/2018 20:15

Sainsbury's do vests for 2-3 years as well as others that op have suggested

80sMum · 12/08/2018 20:15

Something like this!

EverythingNow · 12/08/2018 20:16

Sleeping bag on back to front. A light summer one obviously, that used to thwart one of mine.

PlasWedding · 12/08/2018 20:50

It's too hot for her to have a sleeping bag on! She can get out of a vest too! She takes her arms out and pull it down over her legs!!

She does it when we put her bed at night! She shouts me saying 'maa me out, me out'. I think she is ready, we've just been busy with the wedding and honeymoon this week! Will crack on when we return!

Vests?

GrandTheftWalrus · 12/08/2018 20:57

DD done this the other night as well. Undone the poppers on her jammies and took her nappy off. So she was sent to bed last night in leggings. They stayed on.

Mumof4under10 · 12/08/2018 20:58

I do the sleepsuits backwards. For her age can get footless ones that popper up. Works a treat for lil one cant get it off. :)

redexpat · 12/08/2018 20:58

Sleepsuit on back to front.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/08/2018 20:59

Duct tape right round.

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 12/08/2018 21:01

A kid I babysat did this once, after I changed her cot 3x I snapped a put her in her nappy backwards so tabs were at the back, sleep suit backwards and nappy on the top so she should take one off and it still be ok - this is after she'd smeared poo over her cot then as soon as I'd changed her, took off the nappy and weed in the corner 🤦‍♀️
