Apologies if there’s already been a thread about this,I couldn’t find one.

So I’m guessing because he hasn’t broken the law they’re not at liberty to do anything but I’m pissed off thar he’s been allowed to groom this child and get away with it.

They’re still posting daily to their channel. I don’t actually watch their videos but I’ve been following this story and it doesn’t seem that they’ve even acknowledged it.

They’re still getting hundreds of thousands of views.

I wish they would but people like these seem to be untouchable.

There were posts a few years ago on Guru Gossiper about Jonathan Joly chatting with fans (kids) on Omegle but it seemed to mostly be swept under the rug. Can’t remember if that was before or after the rape joke he made in a video about using date rape drugs on his wife. Their channel is still going.

Mia1415 · 31/07/2018 15:47

I agree. They are still uploading daily and they have not even acknowledged the situation on their channel.

Lots of other youtube channels made videos about the story when it first happened (way before the papers reported it), and they were threatened to take them down.

I heard that there was a media injunction on reporting initially but I don't know whether its true.

I feel really sorry for the children.

retainertrainer · 31/07/2018 16:17

I feel very sorry for the kids too-those directly involved in the incident and his children. He needs to be held accountable.

This whole culture of filming your kids daily, making them perform for the viewing masses needs clamping down on too.

I’m just shocked that more people aren’t shocked! Where’s the outrage? Where’s the repercussions?

Chris Ingham has made a video on his channel about the allegations

LadyLoveYourWhat · 24/08/2018 00:24

YABU to believe anything you read in the Daily Mail.

Devonishome1 · 09/09/2018 22:17

They are still vlogging

DrBlof · 10/09/2018 07:50

"So I’m guessing because he hasn’t broken the law they’re not at liberty to do anything "

Exactly. Should there be illegal and also 'against @retainertrainer's rules'?

southnownorth · 10/09/2018 07:53

They certainly do. This has been going on for months now, and the victim blaming has been horrendous for the girls.

I am glad this is on Mumsnet as I think a lot of people are still unaware of what Chris has done.

Lady Love it is very much true. Have a look at some of the victims on You Tube and watch their evidence.

PolkerrisBeach · 10/09/2018 07:53

I’m just shocked that more people aren’t shocked!

Probably because lots of us have no idea who you're talking about?

whymewhyme · 10/09/2018 08:01

Oh what a creep!

WhatHaveIFound · 10/09/2018 08:06

I just feel sorry for his kids. I've heard they are (reasonably) local to me as DD has seen them in passing.

50Running50 · 10/09/2018 08:11

He claims it's made up rubbish

It's not proved either way....

NeverTalksToStrangers · 10/09/2018 08:15

Never heard of him, my kids watch an American family, but he looks creepy af.

Looks like he hasn't broken the law though.

50Running50 · 10/09/2018 21:35

No he hasn't

Odd thread

southnownorth · 10/09/2018 22:12

Why is it an odd thread running?

50Running50 · 10/09/2018 23:55

It's odd because absolutely nothing has come of this

Nothing!

All this er,evidence' has been shown to be so easily faked

southnownorth · 11/09/2018 00:23

It’s defintely not easily faked. You must be ifam running.

50Running50 · 11/09/2018 22:42

Lol I'm what??

I'm just s sensible onlooker

The blokes done nothing wrong! Silly little girls on the internet causing trouble. Grow the hell up

HolidayHelpPlease · 11/09/2018 23:16

OP I agree. I’ve been following this since the beginning as some of my students mentioned it in a lesson about grooming. The evidence is pretty clear cut and the girl who came forward is very brave. It’s also interesting that a lot of people who made comment videos on the subject were contacted by Inghams lawyers asking them to remove them whereas the girl who made the allegation tweets and video hasn’t been contacted at all.
The whole thing is dodgy. Don’t even get me started on the exploitation of their children for views in the vlogs!

southnownorth · 12/09/2018 08:17

Running, massive victim blaming there. The girl was 16 in year 11 contacted by a married man who is a youtube influencer . If you can't see that's wrong I really worry for you.

They are not silly girls and Sussex police have confirmed the messages were of sexual nature.

50Running50 · 12/09/2018 08:30

Where's the Sussex police confirmation?

southnownorth · 12/09/2018 08:46

From the BBC. Yes she was over the age of consent, but it still doesn't make it right.

In a statement to Newsbeat, Sussex Police said: "Police received a report on July 9 that a 16-year-old girl had been contacted on social media while on holiday.

"The person who made contact with her was also believed to be a British man.

"The contacts were of a sexual nature, however they did not meet in person. As the girl was over 16, no offences have been committed."

50Running50 · 12/09/2018 08:57

Oh. Is that it??

'A British man'.... well there's thousands of them, could be any one of the people in her contact list

'No offences committed'..... oh.

That's all a bit disappointing then.
