Just that really. Is it too late? Bloody annoyed me but not sure if I should complain. It is difficult as not a direct neighbour,

Unless your children have never made a peep before 9am or after 9pm YABU, it's still light at that time

Lethaldrizzle · 31/07/2018 08:46

Yep i would say thats too late.

user1472651064 · 31/07/2018 14:52

Yes, very inconsiderate.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 31/07/2018 14:55

As a pp said... it’s still light and relatively early, why shouldn’t they?

allthgoodusernamesaretaken · 31/07/2018 14:57

I think that's OK

adaline · 31/07/2018 14:59

I don't think that's too late in the summer, to be honest.

glintandglide · 31/07/2018 14:59

I think it’s fine. Sometimes there is no other time

Bombardier25966 · 31/07/2018 15:01

The council won't do a thing.

I don't think 9pm is any more inconsiderate than 9am. A few people will be in bed but the vast majority will not.

brizzledrizzle · 31/07/2018 15:01

yes, it's too late. However if you are going to object to that at 9pm ish then don't let your children on a trampoline at 9am.
We had a 10am rule for noisy garden activities.

Oysterbabe · 31/07/2018 15:04

I think it's ok.

glasserator · 31/07/2018 15:08

Council won’t care unless it’s after 11pm

MoodyMumOfOne · 31/07/2018 15:38

It is a bit late but unless it's a very frequent occurrence, I'd let it go and simmer quietly!

cloudtree · 31/07/2018 15:39

I think its fine in the summer. DH is often out mowing the lawn at that sort of time so that the grass doesn't scorch

jelliebelly · 31/07/2018 15:41

I like to sit in the garden with a glass of wine of an evening - if neighbours started mowing at that time I'd be v v annoyed!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 31/07/2018 15:43

We’ve been working late in our garden... it’s been too hot before then.

cloudtree · 31/07/2018 15:54

what about people who are at work all day though? DH doesn't get in until gone 8.

Kpo58 · 31/07/2018 16:16

They could do it on a day that they aren't working. Few people work 7 days per week every week.

They could use a rake and move the leaves that way.

glintandglide · 31/07/2018 16:47

Well there is lots of fit in when you work 5 days a weeek.
Maybe the gardening isn’t the thing you’re going to plan your weekend around. Why should it be?

cloudtree · 31/07/2018 16:49

People are entitled to do work in their gardens if they like. I'd be very annoyed if a neighbour complained about mowing at 9pm and would completely ignore them, (although it's unlikely to happen around here)

FancyADoughnut · 31/07/2018 16:55

Sometimes I think this place is in a parallel universe. 9pm is not late enough to complain about. Seriously cannot understand why some people think that everyone else has to do their chores at specific times and mowing the lawn at 9pm is hardly antisocial.

Whereismumhiding2 · 31/07/2018 16:58

Doesn't sound unreasonable at all whether 9-9:30am.or 9-9:30pm. 10:30-11pm onwards I'd be a bit ShockHmm but that's not an unreasonable time. Light evenings people wait in hot weather (or showery weather) to do their gardens when they can and when it's light out. (Far better than 6-7am!! )

Whereismumhiding2 · 31/07/2018 16:59

(I meant 10:30-11pm would be unreasonable as would 6-7am!)

Weird. Yes they could but they obviously don't want to - their garden, their choice and no, I don't think 9pm is late to mow the lawn. Hmm

NotSoRandom · 31/07/2018 19:22

I worry about people who say "It's their garden" etc. It's also the neighbour's garden being spoilt by the inconsiderate noise. It's just so stupid to be that unaware.
