Aibu to ask how much you pay monthly for water bills? In south east and paying around £65 a month on a meter. Is this too much? I would say we are pretty careful with water use.

I pay £80 (4 people) per month. I'm in the South West, and water charges are quite high. When I was in the South East (4 years ago) I paid £40-50 per month.

Ah okay so not way out I guess. Blimey, it’s a lot isn’t it!!

I pay £30-£40 a mo that for a family of 5 in the North East on a meter.

fairgame84 · 28/07/2018 18:06

£33 per month for a 2 bed house. I'm on rates so it's much cheaper.

littlepeas · 28/07/2018 18:08

£250 -£300 every six months - no idea why it’s set up that way, but can’t be bothered to change it! Family of 5/5 bed house/Midlands/water meter. When we didn’t have a water meter our bill was only £60 for the same amount of time/people/water!

SlimmingMumOf1 · 28/07/2018 18:09

I pay £33 a month, family of 3.

AlonsoTigerHeart · 28/07/2018 18:11

snozzlemaid · 28/07/2018 18:12

That's not metered btw.

LIZS · 28/07/2018 18:13

About £30 pcm for 4 bed

FASH84 · 28/07/2018 18:13

£54 a month not on a meter large three bed house, south East, we were paying the same in a one bed flat on a meter, if not a little more. Meters are not always cheaper, we've got a large garden note so Christ knows how much it would be on a meter here...

bellsbuss · 28/07/2018 18:14

£85 a month family of 6, south west

Livinglavidal0ca · 28/07/2018 18:16

£31 south west, 2 bed flat, 2 adults and one baby. Only 2 showers a day and a shallow bath for baby.

NameChanger22 · 28/07/2018 18:19

I don't have a meter, I pay a fixed amount of £95 every six months. That works out to about £15 a month. I'm sure a water meter would cost a lot more. We live in the Midlands.

Robyn1986 · 28/07/2018 18:21

I'm in Yorkshire and I pay £31 a month 2 bed house family of 5

Dreamingofkfc · 28/07/2018 18:23

Used to pay £27 a month, moved to next town and bill was £73. I queried it and they said I needed to be in house for 6 months and then they'd review it. I spoke to them last week and they said I'd probably get a refund in August as im in credit and they could reduce the direct debit to £32 a month. So not exactly sure what I should be paying but £73 seemed such a jump from what it was, so I'm glad it's going down!

RandomMess · 28/07/2018 18:23

NW £42 per month metered for 2 adults 3 teens don't water garden or was car.

They originally estimated £60 per month!

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 28/07/2018 18:26

We're in Staffordshire and pay £35 a month for a family of 5, we've got 3 bathrooms, I do at least 1 load of washing a day and work from home grooming and washing dogs.
It seems very cheap compared to others.

Caffeineaddict994 · 28/07/2018 18:26

I pay £36 north west, family of 3 (5 EOW) not on a meter anymore, when I was it was over £40 (DP and DSC only like having -separate- baths the water wasting gits!)

Welshmaenad · 28/07/2018 18:34

£16 a month, 3/4 bed house, Wales. I'm here all the time, 2 kids here about 65% of the time. Wales.

SluttyButty · 28/07/2018 18:35

We're on our first ever water meter, paying £43 a month but coming to the end of our first year and we're paying too much and will probably end up reducing our DD by £10 per month. And we're south east too.

IWantMyHatBack · 28/07/2018 18:37
Shock

So many high bills. We pay £25 a month and I think I'm due a rebate as well. 3 of us and we're not particularly careful with water.

South East

SluttyButty · 28/07/2018 18:37

And we're a family of four and a dog. Teen daughter has the thickest hair ever so takes and eternity to wash/rinse.
But we have A+ appliances and low flush stupid loos.
