phenergen for 13month old

My DS3 has been given phenergen via the doc for bad travel sickness tonight is the first time we are going to give it (husband just passed driving test) he is at right ahe for it ect.
Heres the thing my DD1 is also very travel sick we went 30mins in the car and she threw up everywhere. She was facing forward so wasnt backwards which is even worse for her. Can she has some phenergen am a bit concerned as she is so small only on 9th centile so is just over 18lb?

Just because you can buy it over the counter, doesn’t mean it is suitable for a baby. A pharmacist will get to decide whether it is suitable or not before it is sold.

I gave it to both my dd last night for travel sickness but dd is 7 and dd2 is almost 3. It works well for that.

It's only for age 2+ unless prescribed by a gp. I wouldn't give it unless you got medical advice that it could be given to your younger child

Maybe there’s other medicines suitable for your 13 month old, 3 out of 4 of my Boys are carsick not nice eldest started at one so nonsense re them not getting it till 3, others were under 3 too.

Phenergan should not be used in children aged less than 2 years of age, except on specialist advice, because of the potential for fatal respiratory depression.

Piriton is a sedating antihistamine suitable from age 1. Might that work? ( I think phenergan is an antihistamine too)

No way OP. If you're concerned about her then take her to the GP as well, don't be messing about giving sedatives to babies without medical guidance.

She should ideally be backward facing at her age and size.

The 15month rule only applies to iSize seats and there are still seats on the market based on weight rather than age so the OP may not be breaking any rules
