To expect walls in the changing rooms at the local swimming pool not to have a large amount of shit on the walls?

Semi dried, DD2 knocked against it and got it all over her towel.

First changing room we went in had a filthy nappy chucked on the floor. Didn't notice the shit in the second one until it was too late.

Why are people so fucking filthy in this country?

I'll name and shame the pool too - it was Danes Camp in Northampton.

No, a decent swimming pool always has shit on the walls of the changing room. You're being totally unreasonable.

(Yuck - what is WRONG with people?!)

bookwormmum · 30/05/2007 22:42

At least it wasn't in the pool itself .

foxinsocks · 30/05/2007 22:42

they are all like this

it's marking your territory - it's also Compulsory to deposit some hair on the walls too. Doesn't matter which part of the body it's from.

FrannyandZooey · 30/05/2007 22:44

I work in a school at the weekends - there's one toilet that has shit all over the inside door

I don't know what is worse, that someone put it there in the first place, that nobody has cleaned it for WEEKS, or that I keep forgetting about it and going in that cubicle

bookwormmum · 30/05/2007 22:48

I don't get this - presumably these people would crap on the floor or walls at their houses too? Someone has to clean it up so why make disgusting work for someone?

Mind the old used sanitary towel trick stuck to the wall used to make me gag at school too .

NeverEndingPileOfLaundry · 30/05/2007 22:50

People are so grim. Back in the dim and distant past I had a holiday job working as a lifeguard. One of the less glam jobs was cleaning the changing rooms. All sorts of grimness was, sadly, par for the course. We did clean it up though.

I once stayed in a hotel that had a dried turd on the bath mat. How did they miss that??

southeastastra · 30/05/2007 22:55

it should be checked every couple of hours. maybe it was a random loony

lyrabelacqua · 30/05/2007 22:56

Yuk, that's foul.
I did once find a USED condom in a changing cubicle at our pool. DS2 was just about to pick it up!!!
I reported it to reception and they didn't even seem interested.

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/05/2007 22:58

I don't think it was a random loony - one filthy nappy, not even folded and the just crusting shite? No.

Fio - I'd still say Northampton was dahn sahf.

I have just come back to UK after 20 years away and am beginning to wish I hadn't come back. Didn't have this in Belgium. Or Poland. Ho no.

Midlands? [looks horrified] We are just over the border in Bucks, darling. I hardly think that's the Midlands. [sniffs and glares at Fio]

OP posts:
bookwormmum · 30/05/2007 23:02

I call it the Midlands but I guess it depends where you're starting from. Unless it's past Watford Gap, it's not North, surely?

Pointy dog - by its strong visual resemblance to, um a poo... - what else could it have been?!
