Does anyone actually like quality street ? I personally prefer less but better quality ie hotel chocolat

Toddleoo · 24/07/2018 10:46

Amazing idea, am going to have to do this at Christmas but I can't see which stores will be doing it?

WeAreEternal · 24/07/2018 10:48

It’s a fun idea.

It’s £12 a tin though......

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 24/07/2018 10:52

It would have been; a couple of years ago. Before all chocolate turned to 💩 Sad

Bluelady · 24/07/2018 10:58

If only my dad was still here. He loved the purple ones, a tin with nothing else and his name on it would have made him so happy.

covetingthepreciousthings · 24/07/2018 11:00

It's genius till you read that you can't just fill it with one and you need to have at least four out of the selection. They are being unreasonable to not let people fill it full of green triangles (the best one Wink)

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 24/07/2018 11:02

You have to choose four? Confused. That certainly takes the genius out of it.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 24/07/2018 11:05

That's because there would be loads of brown toffees and coconut ones left.

PolkerrisBeach · 24/07/2018 11:07

Nestle chocolate is crap anyway, filled with yucky palm oil like the rest of it.

spanishwife · 24/07/2018 11:10

Iamagrey

probably because people would just get a tin full of the green ones... (me)

ToadOfSadness · 24/07/2018 11:10

Would have been a good idea some years ago when it was actually made of chocolate, I miss Quality Street, but palm oil and sugar just doesn't have the same appeal, not had them since they were ruined.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 24/07/2018 11:10

Then they should stop filling the tins with the crap they know full well people wouldn’t choose.

MikeUniformMike · 24/07/2018 11:10

Fine in theory but since chocolate has changed, I will be giving it a miss.

Unhomme · 24/07/2018 11:10

Would be cheaper to buy the same size tines at £5 each and throw out the ones you don't like...

EdisonLightBulb · 24/07/2018 11:11

It's time Quality Street and Roses went back to nice chocolate in big tins, produced only for Christmas if need be. I would pay £25 for a genuinely large tin of how they used to be, rather than a fiver for a shallow plastic box of horrible waxy crap.

It really would be like the old days when a tin of Quality Street was THE Christmas treat.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 24/07/2018 11:11

I think the tins are bigger? 1.5kg?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 24/07/2018 11:12

I could be wrong...

spanishwife · 24/07/2018 11:12

coveting

haha I just typed the same thing! Missed your comment

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 24/07/2018 11:18

Quality Street are grim these days. I agree with PP about a proper tin with proper chocolates inside. I would pay more for that. However, I do prefer quality over quantity.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 24/07/2018 11:20

I love quality street, this would be ace for me.

Orange creams, purple ones, toffee penny (or maybe toffee finger) strawberry cream.

gottastopeatingchocolate · 24/07/2018 11:20

When Sainsburys did the lego cards, FB had groups specifically for local trading...
Maybe we need Quality Street trading groups?? I'd happily swap all my green triangles for orange creams!! ;-)

TatianaLarina · 24/07/2018 11:27

Quality street is ghastly. Didn’t realise it still exists.

For £12 you could get a box of Leonidas fresh cream Belgian chocolates.

Frankwindsor · 24/07/2018 11:28

I agree with the others who said it would have been a good idea when the chocolate of quality street actually tasted like chocolate. Now it's all waxy and slimy :(

CookieSue222 · 24/07/2018 11:28

Orange creams for green triangles? are you deranged?
Green triangles, big purple ones, orange crisp and toffee cups (small squishy ones).

RubyFlint · 24/07/2018 11:30

I prefer Roses anyway, but agree that either way the plastic tins are tiny and less appealing than the old larger tins of proper chocolate.
