There will be a very sad full tube of blue ones. That link says they're 'coconut eclairs' but to me they just taste of January 9th, when they're the only ones left.

Blue wrappers are the wrapper of death - I seem to remember Montelimar (?!) were blue...

PuppyMonkey · 24/07/2018 11:33

I still like Quality Street, it's Roses that have gone to shite imho.

QS still taste ok to me - and I love love love an orange cream. We hate the purple ones in our house, so when we get guests round at Christmas, they get to have them all.

ItsHot · 24/07/2018 11:34

That's because there would be loads of brown toffees and coconut ones left.

WHAAAT!Shock bit of an assumption there.

ShotsFired · 24/07/2018 11:40

@covetingthepreciousthings It's genius till you read that you can't just fill it with one and you need to have at least four out of the selection. They are being unreasonable to not let people fill it full of green triangles (the best one wink)

Four people who each like a different flavour, four tins, fill with a quarter of each flavour. Redistribute afterwards so you each have a full tin of "your" fave.

CanineEnigma · 24/07/2018 11:51

That's because there would be loads of brown toffees and coconut ones left.

Whoooooa whoa whoa. I think you'd find they'd have a surplus of satan's arseholes orange creams.

Honeyroar · 24/07/2018 11:54

IT probably would work. I don't like a lot of the ones people are saying are their faves. I hate the green triangles. I'd take the coconut, toffee penny, brown caramel and the strawberry cream. Hate the green one and the orange.

SlothMama · 24/07/2018 11:55

It's a nice idea for an strawberry creme addict like me! I'll probably ask my DP to get me a personalised one for my stocking, it'll be a nice tin to keep hold of

Ethelswith · 24/07/2018 11:56

The left overs would surely be the newbie Orange Crunch.

That article said personalised tin. I think Christmas might be sorted (all purple for DSis!)

CanineEnigma · 24/07/2018 11:57

Having considered it over my cup of coffee my tin would have a bit of everything, other than the fruit filled abominations and the green one. I'd probably make sure there are extra coconut ones and honeycomb ones with only a couple of toffee pennies because my teeth really don't like me eating those ones.

Mousefunky · 24/07/2018 11:59

Why don’t they just ditch the ones nobody ever eats? Maybe run a nationwide poll to find out the least popular two and ditch them. There’s always orange cream, toffee and coconut ones left in this house.

Tbh I know it’s not really a selection as such but I reckon the vast majority of people would be happy to buy a tin purely with the purple and green ones in it.

Toddleoo · 24/07/2018 12:02

Doesn't say you have to have equal amounts of each 4 does it? Fill the tin with the one you want then scatter a few of another 3 that someone you know will eat over the top to conceal 😂 I feel very weird now though reading the past comments, I really like the coconut ones!

DamsonPie · 24/07/2018 12:03

You can buy a 1.2kg tin for about £7.50. So why is this £12? Just because you can choose which flavours you want? Seems like a gimmick to sell the same product for a higher price. You’d be better off just buying an ordinary tin and binning the ones you don’t like!

DamsonPie · 24/07/2018 12:04

Btw I agree that the coconut one is horrible. We don’t even eat them as a last resort when they’re all that’s left. They go in the bin!

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 24/07/2018 12:06

You can get your name on the tin Grin

CanineEnigma · 24/07/2018 12:08

Nah coconut is the best one.

SilverySurfer · 24/07/2018 12:09

Lovely idea, shame the chocolate is inedible shit thanks to palm oil and they must be having a laugh at £12 a tin.

MrsTommyBanks · 24/07/2018 12:09

Woolworths used to do the same.
My late partner used to fill me a jar of orange and strawberry creams for Christmas and birthdays.

ItWillAllBeOkayInTheEnd · 24/07/2018 12:09

You can do this at the Cadbury outlet shops. Much cheaper.

FrangipaniBlue · 24/07/2018 12:10

Woolworths used to do this with Roses!!!

I remember years ago someone buying me a tin full of orange creams Grin

Fucketbucket13 · 24/07/2018 12:10

Is it just me or don't quality streets taste like they used to?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 24/07/2018 12:12

Haven’t the supermarkets already done this anyway? I’m sure I saw giant purple / green shaped boxes filled with sweets last Christmas?
For around a fiver?

KokoandAllBall · 24/07/2018 12:12

We used to get Roses but it's too hot to rant about Cadbury's now.

I'd get one of those tins if we had a John Lewis locally because I only have four favourites. Honeycomb, fudge, toffee penny, orange creme. Very good idea. It would save me throwing all the purple ones and green triangles away. (Why those are the ones that show up in their own packaging sometimes I'll never know.)

TheRoadLessRocky · 24/07/2018 12:12

Beaten to it but this was the best thing about Woolworths pick & mix!

longwayoff · 24/07/2018 12:12

Dont eat, chocolate very often - I have other vices - so wasn't aware it had changed so much. I sometimes buy a bar at Montezuma which seems fine. Any others to recommend or avoid?

MikeUniformMike · 24/07/2018 12:15

Thornton's. Treated myself to some and they were that new chocolate. No treat at all.
I've tried Heros and they were odd too.
Had a chocolate easter egg from Aldi and that was good.
