...to have expected Incredibles 2 to be on before 4pm?

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 18:37

Childcare issues. DS1 agreed to take DS2 to cinema.

Look up times for Incredibles 2.
It's on 4pm, 6pm and 8.20pm

It's a kids film, no?

This is a multiplex.

The first 2 aren't late obv but won't give me a long window in the day to work.

Is there really only one cinema in your town

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 18:40

Ermm yes, we don't all live in cities!

hidinginthenightgarden · 23/07/2018 18:41

I guess its because not all schools have broken up yet.

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 18:41

They have around here.

I can't really see what your problem is to be honest.

Flisspaps · 23/07/2018 18:43

What's the issue with 4pm?

rainbowunicorn · 23/07/2018 18:43

ManyCrisps what a strange question. You do understand that some towns don't even have one cinema don't you?

OP yes I would have expected an earlier showing at around 2pm for this film.

Phosphorus · 23/07/2018 18:43

What is your issue?

Those times seem fine!?

MrsJayy · 23/07/2018 18:43

It might change times onchange over day usually a thursday inline with school holidays . adult Dds saw it last week and the showings were 4 onwards

OftenHangry · 23/07/2018 18:45

Maybe they listened to all of us who were waiting for 14 years that we want priority and adult screenings first 😂 We waited long enough.
On a serious note. Yeah. YANBU

hungryhippie · 23/07/2018 18:46

We watched it at Vue cinema and the showings were 10:00 12:00 14:00 16:00 etc
Obviously just depends where you live.
It was a week day too, before summer hols started.

MissionItsPossible · 23/07/2018 18:47

It’s not really a kids film. Well, In theory it is. The original was out in 2004 and like Toy Story 3, the creators know that this is nostalgia for the kids at the time who have grown up now and may now have kids of their own. It’s why grown adults were crying when the lights came up in the cinema at TS3 and the kids looked nonplussed or embarrassed.

Musicalstatues · 23/07/2018 18:47

Did you look this afternoon and see the times just for today? As any earlier showings would then have disappeared. (Just a thought!)

ch0c0milkrox · 23/07/2018 18:47

Has it been out long? They tend to cut down amount of screenings the longer it's been out

MrsJayy · 23/07/2018 18:49

It has been out less than a fortnight

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 18:49

I just assumed a kids film would be shown earlier in the day; that the demographic is quite young children who would be more likely to go to say 12, 4 and 6 pm showings.

I'm mainly just frustrated as I have a whole summer of childcare to sort out. I'd sorted out the first two weeks. DSs going out for a 4pm showing doesn't really work well - if they can even go. DS1 also assumed it would be earlier and he's got other things to do.

stargirl1701 · 23/07/2018 18:52

It's a PG though so it's not for very young children. It's aimed at 7+.

IGiorni · 23/07/2018 18:52

Can they not do something else for a couple of hours? The cinemas near me don’t have kids films on during the day yet either, that’s starting next week.

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 18:54

DS2 is 9.
Yeah, I guess I can pack them off somewhere else - it was just all worked out (bus, lunch, film, snack, bus) so it was more than a couple of hours. DS1 is a lot older than DS2.

We are rural so they need taking or to use a bus. Plonking them in a cool cinema would have been great.

It’s for us in our 20’s. Leave your kids at home Grin

MrsJayy · 23/07/2018 18:55

Can he not take her to town then early dinner then cinems ? Will get them out of the house for a while

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 18:55

I'd love to....I've got to work!

Was hoping the CEO of Vue was on MN and do an exclusive showing.

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 18:59

Jayy DS1 has band practise at 6pm.

It's ok - I'm not looking for solutions, just having a moan.

OP posts:
MrsJayy · 23/07/2018 19:00

Sorry it is your son not daughter

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 19:05

Grin yeah....don't tell me I need to sort out a daughter as well!
