...to have expected Incredibles 2 to be on before 4pm?

Childcare issues. DS1 agreed to take DS2 to cinema.

Look up times for Incredibles 2.
It's on 4pm, 6pm and 8.20pm

It's a kids film, no?

This is a multiplex.

The first 2 aren't late obv but won't give me a long window in the day to work.

Think it does depend where you live. Took DS to see it, we went to the 1pm showing and could have gone one earlier.

Is it that cinemas try to anticipate when families will be most likely to go?

PuppyMonkey · 23/07/2018 19:19

It’s on at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 4pm and 5pm at my nearest multiplex.

Planning to go tomorrow to enjoy a nice dark room and air conditioning. Grin

Even some in cities don't have a load of cinemas

Take Lewisham Not one public cinema at all . None.

YANBU. I would have expected a late morning or early afternoon showing during the holidays, it's usual at our local multiplexes.

But that said, one of ours sometimes takes a strange view on holiday dates. I'm sure their research must suggest it's not worth putting on daytime screenings until whatever date but it's not always obvious to predict.

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 19:50

puppy can you take DS2 please? Popcorn all round on me!

I took DD on Sunday and it was on every hour in different screens! What have they got on during the day?

Breathingbecominganissue · 23/07/2018 20:09

Went to see it at 10:30 this morning with kids aged 5,8,9,11.5year old was bored, others like it (I wasn't overly impressed, but I wasn't that keen on the first one.
Looking forward to taking the older two to see Skyscraper next week,as they loved Rampage. We're fans of the Rock (when I say 'we' I mean 'me'!!!).

Imustbemad00 · 23/07/2018 20:58

Just wanted to add it’s on 12 times tomorrow at my local cinema between 10:00 and 20:40.. after 4 does seem weird.

callymarch · 23/07/2018 21:05

OP I would check the vue website again if i were you, just to make sure you werent just looking at todays times. as a PP said, if you look at website it only shows the film times for the rest of the day, so if you look at 3pm it will only show films after that. look for tomorrow and it will show all the times (12 showings a day at my Vue)

TheOrigFV45 · 23/07/2018 21:23

That's not unreasonable, but we (both DS1 and I independently) looked at 6pm and it showed the 4pm screening. I have checked though and I was def looking at the right time.

Our local cinema, and yes there is only one and even that is over 20 miles away, has only two screens.

And it has it showing at 10.30, 1.30, 4.30 and 7.30.

Yanbu.

ThorsMistress · 23/07/2018 21:55

We went Sunday and it was an 11:00 showing. Could it be earlier times at the weekend?

Notthatwomanagain · 23/07/2018 21:56

I’d assume those times are exactly because the parents taking the kids have to work.

I can’t take mine in the day so those times would be perfect for us

TheOrigFV45 · 24/07/2018 07:54

Meh....we have a vomiting child situation. Lucky we didn't book tickets, eh.
