To tell him to go to A&E?

Just got these pics through from a friend. He thinks he was bitten by a snake at an outdoor theatre event tonight. Two puncture wounds that bled, hand is now tingling and swelling. I'm usually very chilled with health things but looking at that (and after a quick google) told him to get himself off to A&E. He's dithering...any snake bite experts out there?

HoleyCoMoley · 19/07/2018 22:24

yes, off he goes. is this in the uk.

JustVent · 19/07/2018 22:25

If it’s an Adder bite then it’s a medical emergency.

Halfblindbunny · 19/07/2018 22:25

Yep he needs to go.

MrsMozart · 19/07/2018 22:25

I'd be saying A&E.

Hope he's okay.

KitKat1985 · 19/07/2018 22:26

Yes he needs to go to A&E.

Singlenotsingle · 19/07/2018 22:27

Tell him to go now!

easyandy101 · 19/07/2018 22:27

Would appear to be quite a big snake!

Also how does he not notice getting bitten by a snake? Gin

LoniceraJaponica · 19/07/2018 22:28

Why on earth is he dithering? Of course he needs to go to A and E Hmm

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 19/07/2018 22:28

If it was an adder, he needs it to be seen quickly!

FeralBeryl · 19/07/2018 22:28

Anti histamine and 111 if he knows the snake breed, if not I'd go to A&E yes

OftenHangry · 19/07/2018 22:28

It looks even right size for common viper (Adder). They are not usually deadly to healthy adults, but can cause massive problems. He needs to go. Actually he needed to go hours ago.

easyandy101 · 19/07/2018 22:29

If it was last night it is clearly not an emergency

Your main risk now is infection

easyandy101 · 19/07/2018 22:30

Ah tonight sorry

JustVent · 19/07/2018 22:30

It was tonight he was bitten.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 19/07/2018 22:31

He got bitten tonight?
Def worth an A&E trip. Can he take some antihistimines too?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 19/07/2018 22:32

Did he see the snake?

Bumdishcloths · 19/07/2018 22:32

Definitely A&E, tingling isn't good.

TheHobbitMum · 19/07/2018 22:33

Of course A&E!

fourandnomore · 19/07/2018 22:34

Is this for real? Of course go to A&E!

Cornettoninja · 19/07/2018 22:34

I think a and e is probably the best course of action.tbh I don’t know why he would think it wasn’t Confused

(It’s tickled me slightly that you also have a before and after of his tea Grin)

Slightlyjaded · 19/07/2018 22:34

This is a UK adder bite 24 hours or more later. Very similar place and distance between the puncture wounds. I'd deffo go very quickly. And perhaps antihistamine in the meantime.

Bambamber · 19/07/2018 22:35

A snake bite doesn't normally tingle apart from the initial irritation, he needs to get it looked at. Hopefully it's something as simple as a tooth stuck in the soon causing irritation

Bambamber · 19/07/2018 22:36

Did he get a look at the snake? A description will be helpful when getting checked out
