Which supermarket - Aldi, Waitrose, Sainsbobs or Tesco?

Have just moved to a new town and have these four options - I used to shop at Aldi but I can't get everything from there so wondering if I should make the switch.

Opinions on which is the best? Or a mix?

Yes I used Sainsbobs as it's one of 'those phrases' 😁

I do the bulk of my shopping in Aldi’s, then top up occasionally from Morrison’s or Sainsbury’s. Best of both worlds, and much cheaper than doing all my shopping in just Sainsbury’s

GogoGobo · 17/07/2018 19:59

Sainsbobs? 😩

Tartsamazeballs · 17/07/2018 19:59

Aldi and Waitrose here! Hate Sainsbury's and Tescos

Twillow · 17/07/2018 20:00

Never heard Sainsbobs in my life {confused} maybe I've led a sheltered life.
It's really up to you. They're all much of a muchness.

CanIhavedessertfirst · 17/07/2018 20:00

Tesco for a big grocery shop, Sainsburys for a top up (mainly because they have the best bakery counter)

WittyJack · 17/07/2018 20:00

Waitrose
Sains
Tesco

In that order for me.

Twillow · 17/07/2018 20:01

my face didn't work Blush

WittyJack · 17/07/2018 20:01

That being said, it’s good to mix it up a bit - otherwise you can end up buying the same stuff all the time!

Amanduh · 17/07/2018 20:01

Sainsburys for a full shop. Aldi for a cheap one. Waitrose for certain bits. Tesco if I have to.

AwkwardSquad · 17/07/2018 20:03

Sainsbo for main shop, Waitrose for treats. Can’t be arsed with Aldi.

jeanzbeanz · 17/07/2018 20:03

Morrisons all the way! Use Iceland food warehouse sometimes and get some nice bits from M&S.

bookmum08 · 17/07/2018 20:05

Which is the most convenient for you to get to? That's your answer. They all sell food.

BlueTears · 17/07/2018 20:05

ASDA
Morrison's
Sainsbury's

In that order.

Chrisinthemorning · 17/07/2018 20:08

Aldi weekly except once a month Sainsbury’s/ Tesco to top up with things Aldi don’t sell.

CasperGutman · 17/07/2018 20:09

Aldi every week. Tesco every so often for the increasingly rare bits we can't get in Aldi. Sainsbury's would do instead of Tesco if the local branch is bigger or had better "world foods" sections, as that's what we tend to be going for. Asda as a last resort in times of national crisis only.

DesignStatement · 17/07/2018 20:09

Waitrose for food.
Sainsbury for household products (kitchen towel, bleach etc )

ThisIsHistory · 17/07/2018 20:12

Mix of Sainsbos and Waitrose

RitaMills · 17/07/2018 20:14

I shop at Sainsbury’s for my main shop. I’m in a part of Scotland that still doesn’t have a Waitrose near me so I’ve never shopped there. I was in Durham last week though and nipped into one for sandwiches on the way home thinking they would be awsome due to the MN obsession with Waitrose but they were pretty shit, even by pre packed sandwich standards. Should’ve went to the M&S across the road.

WaxOnFeckOff · 17/07/2018 20:15

I have access to all those plus Morrisons, M&S and Lidl (and a co-op and iceland)

My view is Sainsburys for regular shop.

I often get vouchers for Waitrose but honestly I struggle to use them as ours is not a big store and being honest even trying to treat yourself with ready meals is a no go as some of their stuff is bland and tasteless. There are a lot of things I like but the vouchers are usually a minimum spend of £100 and I cant buy booze when using them (in Scotland and can't be used due to the minimum alcohol price thing).

I go to M&S for treats and really can't be gassed with aldi and Lidl.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/07/2018 20:15

I'm miles from Waitrose but I do trundle along maybe every 4 weeks.
Sainsbury is my go-to
Tesco once in a while
Rarely go to The Asda

Aldi and Lidl only if the Aisle of Crap has something on offer or DH needs razorblades

WaxOnFeckOff · 17/07/2018 20:17

If I could afford to, I'd give up my whole life here and move to be beside a Booths though.

ScreamingValenta · 17/07/2018 20:18

Try those you don't normally use and see what products you like from them - then you can vary it according to what you need.

afreshnewname · 17/07/2018 20:19

Try them all and decide for yourself? They all have some good shops and some shit ones depending where you are, so I’m not sure how anyone online can advise?🤷🏻‍♀️
