Which supermarket - Aldi, Waitrose, Sainsbobs or Tesco?

Have just moved to a new town and have these four options - I used to shop at Aldi but I can't get everything from there so wondering if I should make the switch.

Opinions on which is the best? Or a mix?

Yes I used Sainsbobs as it's one of 'those phrases' 😁

I do a mix of Lidl and Waitrose/Ocado.

So when I have time I go to Lidl and stock up on cheap basics - fruit, veg, plain yoghurt, cheese, some household stuff, etc. But I can’t get everything there.

I like the idea of trying a different one a week! One thing is I have some dietary requirements and I've found Tesco to be the best for these (in case anyone else is in the same boat).

Waitrose smells the best but I always feel like a bit of a fraud in there 😁

Waitrose is good for ingredients and some fancy stuff (eg really nice biscuits) but M&S does better ready meals and pre-prepared food.

I’m a supermarket tart Grin.

Lidl for basics & household stuff.

Waitrose & M&S for nice food.

Waitrose is my favourite, I do use all the others regularly though. I've found sainsbury's to be more expensive than waitrose and a most waitrose's you can register for quick check where you scan and pack as you go round and so know how much you've spent.

Aldi for most of it then Morrisons for top ups.

Fleurelle · 17/07/2018 21:46

I like sainsburys then tesco.

Find wairtrose ok for meat but that's about it. I don't like aldi.

A mix. We don't have a Tesco anywhere near, oddly.
I like Sainsbury's (ooh... my autocorrect made it that from sainsbo). DH does most of the shopping and uses Asda or Aldi or occasionally Morrison's for basics, depending on what other shopping he's doing...things like loads of tinned tomatoes, detergents etc and veg. Waitrose or M&S for meat, fish, nice fruit, and generally naice stuff. (Or booths if we're near one)

Aldi once a week for storecupboard, dairy, breads and meats. Tesco or Morrisons (near work) for veg every few days. Sainsbos for clothes and homewares so rarely, but when I do go I pick uo dinner for that night and it is nice its just too spendy for every day.

Asda is farthest away so I rarely go there but would if I was hosting a bbq etc as its great price and could go and get everything I needed in one fell swoop.
