To film a practical joke

Needsupporttoday · 15/07/2018 11:48

Person A plays a practical joke on person B and films it. Person B realises after the event that he/she was filmed and wants Person A to delete the film. The joke was funny but person B objects to the film as person A will send it to others. Person A thinks Person B is BU and vice versa.
Should A delete the film or is B being precious?

A should delete the film.

NickMyLipple · 15/07/2018 11:49

Delete for sure.

Secretsquirrel252 · 15/07/2018 11:51

Person A should delete the film. They're also a wanker.

thefairyfellersmasterstroke · 15/07/2018 11:53

A should delete the film.

YABU for even having to ask, and for thinking that any practical "joke" is funny. What's funny about humiliating someone else? A is being a dick, and clearly doesn't give a shit about B's feelings.

Returnofthesmileybar · 15/07/2018 11:54

Yep A is a wanker and B should delete it themselves as I wouldn't trust A to do it

Gettingbackonmyfeet · 15/07/2018 11:54

Person A should delete the film, I'm not usually the fun police but I detest things like this

It's so rarely actually funny and is usually humiliating and to film it is so much worse

WineOClock22 · 15/07/2018 11:55

Delete (and sounds pretty mean to have filmed in the first place tbh)

EmpressWeaponisedClitoris · 15/07/2018 11:55

A should apologise & delete the film in front of B.

SneakyGremlins · 15/07/2018 11:55

Person A is a massive cunt who probably thinks they're hilarious when they humiliate others.

bitter, me?

MissLingoss · 15/07/2018 11:56

Person A is being very unreasonable. A should not film B, and especially not send the film to others, without B's consent. If this was school, I daresay it would be classed as bullying. A should delete the film immediately.

Did Person B think the joke was funny?

DuggeeHugs · 15/07/2018 11:58

Of course A should delete it.

Although since A has already filmed a practical "joke" where B is the victim with the intent of sharing it they probably aren't the sort of person who gives a damn about anyone but themselves. So I suspect B is likely to end up even more annoyed with A than they already are. On the plus side for B, they can at least justifiably drop A from now on.

SendintheArdwolves · 15/07/2018 12:05

Person A should delete the film and apologise.

It doesn't matter how "hilarious" the joke was, person B gets the final say here.

If Person A refuses, shares the video or goes on about how person B needs to "lighten up", "get a sense of humour" or anything of that nature, person B should strongly consider not having much/anything to do with person A in future.

Seriously. Practical jokes are (mostly) childish and bullying, and someone who'll film that, distribute it against your wishes and not see why what they did is wrong, is NOT someone you should trust or be close to.

SerenDippitty · 15/07/2018 12:13

Person A is an arsehole and should delete.

blackbirdbluebottle · 15/07/2018 12:14

Definitely delete

BlancheM · 15/07/2018 12:17

Person is an immature knobhead who isn't as hilarious as they think they are.

Redundancy1 · 15/07/2018 12:18

"The joke was funny"

for the victim? Also the victim didn't consent to being filmed.

Person A should permanently delete film. Person B should find new friends. Sorted Grin

lostfrequencies · 15/07/2018 12:18

Person A is BU.

ilovesooty · 15/07/2018 12:20

Yes A should delete in front of B.
Then B should drop A like a tonne of bricks.

starlight2017 · 15/07/2018 12:20

Delete the film. Public humiliation is bullying.

Elliebobbins · 15/07/2018 12:21

It definitely should be deleted. Often there is a fine line between a joke and bullying. Even if the person b found the joke funny, it doesn't mean that person a has the right to share it without their consent.

Motoko · 15/07/2018 12:22

Person B should LTB.

HoneyBadgerApparently · 15/07/2018 12:22

A should delete. B should get nicer friends.

DNAwrangler · 15/07/2018 12:22

You're B, right?

viques · 15/07/2018 12:25

Person B should delete Person A. I think it would be justifiable

Needsupporttoday · 15/07/2018 12:28

Yes, I am B and was starting to question my sanity as A says I was a party-pooping humourless fun sponge for asking him (very calmly) to delete the film. Person is from dh's family so can't drop him completely but will minimise contact in future.
