Post Brexit as we turn our backs on Europe could UEFA tell us to sod off?

Quartz2208 · 12/07/2018 07:14

Um you are joking surely? We will still be part of Europe just not the EU

NoSuchThingAsAlpha · 12/07/2018 07:18

We'll still be members of UEFA post-Brexit. UEFA and the EU are entirely separate organisations.

MsJaneAusten · 12/07/2018 07:19

We can’t do Eurovision either Hmm

IrmaFayLear · 12/07/2018 07:21

Idiotic AIBU.

No, we won't be allowed in. And we won't be allowed to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest either. Along with the Swiss and Norwegians.

Oh, and anyone thinking of holidaying in a gite will be turned back at Calais.

Padparadscha · 12/07/2018 07:21

So what about Turkey, Sweden, Iceland, Switzerland, Russia (and probably another I’m forgetting about). We’re not getting kicked out of Eurovision either, however perhaps it would be a mercy if we were...

LagunaBubbles · 12/07/2018 07:22

You do realise Europe and the EU aren't the same thing? Hmm

user56 · 12/07/2018 07:23

@Padparadscha Sweden are in the EU arent they ?

Padparadscha · 12/07/2018 07:25

Oops I meant Norway not Sweden, sorry!

Perhaps they’ll let Scotland and N. Ireland stay though, as they did vote Remain collectively. I heard they’re going to ban England and Wales from even looking at a football again....

PenguinDuck · 12/07/2018 07:25

We are hosting the semi final and final at Wembley.

Trunkisareshite · 12/07/2018 07:26

OP, you should probably name change and pretend you never asked this.

TeddyIsaHe · 12/07/2018 07:26

😂😂 You are aware that Europe and the EU aren’t the same thing? Awkward...

Israel are eligible and they're not even in Europe, never mind the EU

No such thing as a stupid question

BluthsFrozenBananas · 12/07/2018 07:36

Yep, once Brexit kicks in the moorings which keep mainland UK tethered to Europe will be cut and we’ll be left to drift off into the Atlantic, so won’t be part of the continent anymore. Of course it’s a bit harder with Ireland, but I hear there’s plans afoot to chip off the bit which is part of the UK...

beluga425 · 12/07/2018 07:36

We can’t do Eurovision either
What? now it really is serious!

Believeitornot · 12/07/2018 07:37

^this
So all the numpties who think Brexit means moving geographically out of the continent of Europe and setting up a continent just for ourselves will realise that that is not the case.

NerrSnerr · 12/07/2018 07:38

You do know that Australia do Eurovision don't you OP? I hear that they left the EU years ago...

beluga425 · 12/07/2018 07:40

Australia left the EU? when? Iexpect they probably got annoyed with the journey time to Brussels.

OP posts:
CtrlCandCtrlV · 12/07/2018 07:43

It would be funny if we were not to be fair. We wanted Brexit, we might as well go for a strong one. Voters who wanted to separate themselves and screw foreigners should see the full consequences and be entitled to completely isolate themselves.

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/07/2018 07:55

I hear trump is coming to advise us on how to build our wall. 🙄

SoupDragon · 12/07/2018 07:55

You do know that Eurovision is nothing to do with being the EU?

SoupDragon · 12/07/2018 07:56

Being in the EU.
