Who's going to build a bear tomorrow?

I was wondering who's planning on going to build a bear tomorrow? I want to go, my LO is 11 months old. Thinking it's going to be rammed, which I absolutely hate. I was planning on getting there as soon as it opens. But I was just curious on if other people were planning on going to their local store.

Who's going to build a bear tomorrow?

Ah I would have taken DD if it wasn't a school day Sad.

You should beat the crowds if you go there early.

astoundedgoat · 11/07/2018 08:09

If you hate it and your baby is too small to know or care, apart from being overstimulated by crowds and noise, why are you going?

Littlejayx · 11/07/2018 08:09

I want to go but I’m scared of the massive crowds that will be there.

Won’t be to bad at11 do you all think??? It’s just good timing as it’s my daughters birthday this week and I’m skint 😭

Bobbiepin · 11/07/2018 08:09

Dd is 8 months and I'm doing a friggin KIT day Angry

MsHopey · 11/07/2018 08:12

It's Los birthday in 2 weeks and have spent quite a bit already. But a bargain is a bargain and there's a cuddly toy I have my eyes on but £28 seems a lot. £1 sounds amazing. I'll deal with tj4 crowds but I want to avoid them if possible. Also thought it was worth sharing to help other parents out who haven't seen the deal.

Local one is open till 9pm. Not sure of other peoples but older children could still go after school. The deal is on all day :)

I’m thinking about it, ds2 who is 5 would absolutely love it as he has never been.

jarhead123 · 11/07/2018 08:16

Apparently it's only if its your birthday, otherwise its full price

iamawagama · 11/07/2018 08:17

I think the small print says minimum price £5. Also you have to sign up to a club thing? Find out what this entails first maybe?

MsHopey · 11/07/2018 08:18

Definitely read all the faq page. It's for everyone.
They are going to do a count the candles deal in future, that's if you go during your birthday month you get one bear for the price of your age on your upcoming birthday.
This is definitely for everyone as long as the child is present and you are a member of their bear club scheme.

MsHopey · 11/07/2018 08:18

Club is free. Minimum spend is £1. So my 11 month old will be £1.

motortroll · 11/07/2018 08:19

This is no good to me. I'm 40 🙄

Chapman31 · 11/07/2018 08:20

Small print says minimum of £1 spend, 1 toy per guest, outfits are extra and you need to have signed up to their club thing (it’s free).

www.buildabear.co.uk/brand-about-events.html

^^ faq page.
Maximum price is £25.
So if you're are 40, a bear you want is £35. You'll only pay £25.

Then you've got nothing to lose! If it's too busy you can turn around and go home. But I'd get there early if I were you

IceRebel · 11/07/2018 08:21

Definitely not just for those who have a birthday on the 12th July, but you do have to join their bonus club to be eligible.

There seems to be another even coming soon that focuses on birthdays

Can expecting mothers participate in this offer?

"Guests under 1 year can pay £1/$1, however this Thursday’s Pay Your Age day deal offer is designed for children who can enjoy the fun of Build-A-Bear Workshop. With that in mind, we look forward to celeBEARating your child’s birthday any time during their birthday month with our new Count Your Candles program where the age they are turning is how much their new Birthday Treat bear will cost! More information on this program is coming soon!"

tuckingfypo · 11/07/2018 08:26

I've got someone to take DD to school tomorrow so I can get there for opening with baby and get a £1 bear Blush

And then I'll be giving it to older DD for her birthday (if I can get the my little pony bear!)

I shall give baby DD some extra boob time to make up for it Grin

YouBetterWORK · 11/07/2018 08:41

Ooo we're going to Birmingham tomorrow and DD is only 5 months! And they have a ragdoll cat (as do we)! Thanks OP! Smile

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/07/2018 09:11

I'd have to take out a second mortgage if I paid my age.Grin

AlphaBravo · 11/07/2018 09:13

Blatent marketing is blatent. Well done OP. It would've been nice and quiet. Now we won't fucking bother.

MsHopey · 11/07/2018 09:15

I did think selfishly about not sharing because it would keep BAB quieter for me.
Then I thought I didn't want kids missing out because I'm selfish and wanted a shorter queue at the checkout. So shared it to help parents out.

@AlphaBravo have you seen the Facebook post Build a Bear have posted?! I doubt this thread will have made a difference considering their Facebook post has been shared 183,000 times Hmm

ItsNachoCheese · 11/07/2018 10:27

Im taking ds to glasgow for it

ChikiTIKI · 11/07/2018 11:20

I'm so gutted to miss this event. Driving very far from the north to the south tomorrow with a 9 month baby. Maybe she will happen to wake up and need a pit stop near one of the shops? I doubt it somehow :(

HollyGibney · 11/07/2018 12:23

It's been in all the papers, don't be so ridiculous, one thread on MN will make very little difference.

Don't worry OP, sharing was a nice thing to do. Honestly the sour facedness of some people on here beggars belief.
