DH wants to install a urinal!

I've just found out from the builder that DH has asked him to install a urinal in the new bathroom!? We're having an extension onto the garage and it's meant to be a games room for the 2 boys but DH has since been making noises about putting a fully functioning bar in there with fruit machines and now a fucking urinal! I'm fucking fuming!!

Seems weird and he should have discussed it with you but... Why fuming? It wouldn't in place of a regular toilet would it?

BrutusMcDogface · 08/07/2018 15:08

Omg! Why wouldn't he consult you first?! I'd hate a urinal in my home! Yuk!

letsdolunch321 · 08/07/2018 15:15

What the fuck. Build a toilet in there & give him a funnel - the stupid fool

Seasawride · 08/07/2018 15:29

Imagine the builder told you as he thinks it’s a crazy idea too. Yeuk no way. Who wants to clean that???

Bar and fruit machines? How old are your boys. Guessing toddlers and it’s really dads room! Wink

Giraffesandllamas · 08/07/2018 15:30

Is it on the plans for the extension?

Kpo58 · 08/07/2018 15:32

Couldn't he just use the compost heap instead?

SouthWestmom · 08/07/2018 15:33

I saw a basin urinal the other day and considered it for our bathroom. If he means one that's just a differently shaped loo I can't see an issue.

BlueAir · 08/07/2018 15:37

It's going to smell like a Saturday night pubs pissed up toilets - nice.
Get industrial extractor fans and slop buckets in, op. Grin

GreyGardens88 · 08/07/2018 15:40

As a man I think that's an awesome idea ha

GreatWesternValkyrie · 08/07/2018 15:40

Was he a pub landlord in a former life?

Perhaps you could distract him with talk of a home cinema instead. Or a home bowling alley. Or a go kart track!

Bluelady · 08/07/2018 15:41

That'll be fun when you try to sell the house.

MojoMoon · 08/07/2018 15:45

Why on earth would you want fruit machines at home?

A bar and maybe a pinball machine is fair enough but playing a fruit machine at home alone is pretty sad.

This may miss the point.

9amTrain · 08/07/2018 15:46

"Who wants to clean that"

I much prefer cleaning urinals to toilets. At least nobody shits in a urinal...

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/07/2018 15:47

No just no. It will make your house stink. Get him one of these

DH wants to install a urinal!
niknac1 · 08/07/2018 15:48

They absolutely stink, ask him to clean it if he insists

I am a man.

No way would I agree to this. If I was a builder, I would ensure both husband and wife were Ok with it before I began installing it.

Scribblegirl · 08/07/2018 15:54

Genuine question, what’s better about a urinal than a normal toilet? Isn’t it basically the same - er - experience?!?

Scribblegirl · 08/07/2018 15:54

(That said I would be super on board for a game room/bar extension!)

pigeondujour · 08/07/2018 15:55

Why does he think the extension is just for him when he's got a wife and two kids? Confused how unattractive.

titchy · 08/07/2018 15:57

Tell the builder to install it at child height as it's for your kids....

Godowneasy · 08/07/2018 15:59

Never has " No is a complete sentence" been so neccessary!

FeistyOldBat · 08/07/2018 16:02

Make it conditional on two things: he cleans it, and you also have a bidet. You can get toilet seats that act like a bidet, but don't tell him that straightaway.

user1471596238 · 08/07/2018 16:02

He's not opening a pub is he?
