To think tampax compact pearl

Have a huge design flaw or is it just my flaps that get pinched by the applicator ?

OP posts:
Lalalala3 · 05/07/2018 22:16

That may have happened to me a few times...

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 05/07/2018 22:17

So fucking glad this isn’t just me!!!

It’s the worst sensation ever. Can only imagine it’s similar to a bloke getting his bits caught in a zip 😬😩

dudsville · 05/07/2018 22:19

Is this one with a plastic applicator? I haven't used tampons for years but I hated the crispy ends on the plastic applicators, frequently got a pinch. Great for glide though!

Cheerbear23 · 05/07/2018 22:20

Yes, they’ve nipped inside my vagina - awful. Give me a paper applicator any day.

KinkyAfro · 05/07/2018 22:23

The pearl ones that aren't compact are much better, smoother and dont pinch

Twillow · 05/07/2018 22:23

Also, one-use plastic of the worst example - how are you going to be in a position to rinse and recycle?? Card ones all round please, Tampax!

Lalalala3 · 05/07/2018 22:24

Give me a paper applicator any day.

With paper applicators I always pull it down too far before inserting and end up separating the two pieces of cardboard or whatever, then try to insert them back again and end up crushing the holes/ruining the whole thing. Blush

Wide0penSpace · 05/07/2018 22:24

I've stopped buying these due to the unnecessary single use plastic applicators.

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 05/07/2018 22:24

Designed by a man surely?

Sheldonoscopy · 05/07/2018 22:28

Clearly designed by someone who hasn’t ever used one.
Tbh these days I’m thankful for my desogestrel mini pill and the no periods it provides me with.
Two kids down and I can’t use tampons without pain 🤷🏻‍♀️

MrsEricBana · 05/07/2018 22:31

Yes agree about the single use plastic aspect.

HabbyHadno · 05/07/2018 22:31

Is this the one where the applicator ends up folding in on itself and doesn't even push the tampon out half the time? It had a 50/50 success rate.

monkeysox · 05/07/2018 22:31

Yanbu they fucking hurt

Jozxyqk · 05/07/2018 22:39

I got a free promotional sample of the compact pearl tampon, when they first came out. I wasn't convinced... ouchy!

Candyflip · 05/07/2018 22:40

Hate them! And to add insult to injury I accidentally bought the fucking scented ones. Soooo much pain.

Melamin · 05/07/2018 22:45

I have had my insides pinched by the teeth of the cardboard ones before and it is a bugger to get them back out again Angry

FlyingElbows · 05/07/2018 22:46

Oh good it's not just me! I'm a lifelong lillets woman but I've used the compact pearl ones sometimes and the bastards nip me every damn time. Awful things.

delilahbucket · 05/07/2018 22:50

Absolutely hate them. Not only do they nip, but they often don't push the tampon out, instead just sliding back together. Useless design. Must have been invented by someone who has neither a vagina nor periods.

ThisMorningWentBadly · 05/07/2018 22:53

Absolutely!

BillywilliamV · 05/07/2018 22:53

I have seen the applicators on beaches, I think they should be banned

FreeMantle · 05/07/2018 22:54

One and once only. Non applicator now.
Super easy, super small.

NowApparently · 05/07/2018 22:54

I've never thought about the single-use plastic aspect before, normally I'm in far too much of a rush to sort myself out before the baby kicks off to think about anything. Consider me converted back to the paper wrappers and card applicators from now on.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 05/07/2018 22:55

I knew before I even clicked on this thread that it would be about the nipping Angry

SeamusMacDubh · 05/07/2018 23:15

I don't know how but I always manage to nip my bits at least once during my period with the plastic applicator. I use lillets so I don't think it's a tampax issue. I usually put it down to me rushing/not paying attention properly but now I'm thinking maybe it's not me...

LemonysSnicket · 05/07/2018 23:18

I've used non applicator tampons since I was 12... never understood the need for paper or plastic
