I quite like them.

I was thinking of starting my own thread - 'I know nothing, ask me anything'.

The genuine ones are quite interesting but yeah the others aren't great although the snail one did make me laugh admittedly.
Now it's getting boring but if you don't like them, don't read them

I like them. The proper ones, not the jokey ones. I'm currently learning a lot about lesbians on one thread and pilots on another. What's not to like?

Meh. I think they're quite interesting and have enjoyed lurking on them.

As with most things on the internet, if it doesn't interest you, don't read it and move on.
I actually find threads complaining about threads more annoying (e.g. AIBU to think ask me anything threads are annoying? AIBU to think people should stop threads about the royal wedding?)

The first couple were really interesting but now everyone is doing them and they are pathetic and boring ! The funeral director and cremation ones were really informative but eveyone jumping on the bandwagon now and it's boring

Tbf there’s some amazing ones on Reddit, they get some great people on to do them.

But then reddit have a board for everything under the sun, including AMA, and people seem pretty good at sticking to where they’re meant to post - not like us unherdable cats here

Depends. The one started by the lady who works in a crematorium was fascinating (and reassuring). I think its in Classics now.

Yanbu. I scrolled down active and hid each one I saw. The active conversations list was almost empty and then I refreshed the page and a load bloody more AMAs popped up!
