To be mystified by this ?

Cleaners came today to my flat. As part of their time they change my double bed , last week they said if I didn't have time to strip bed no problem , just leave out sheets and they will strip and change. Great, handy for when I am rushing about with kids.
So today I get home and go to wash my dirty bedding, but can only find the dirty bottom sheet. All new bedding nicely made up , but duvet and pillowcase gone AWOL! Flat is tiny so where on Earth are they?! Have texted the cleaners a few hours ago but no response. AIBU to be mystified by the disappearance of some large pieces of fabric ?

Hmm. Have you seen more ghosts wandering around than usual? They might need the sheets you see.

acornsandnuts · 25/06/2018 16:06

Could they took them to wash? Little added bonus.

potoftea · 25/06/2018 16:06

Check they actually took off the dirty one. This happened my sister after changing her bed and being mystified at her disappearing duvet cover. Found it under the clean one on the duvet.

wedothebestbbqs · 25/06/2018 16:07

Surely they didn't just double up the covers ?! Or take them to wash them?! Too much like hard work but a possibility.

In washing machine, tumble dryer, washing line?
Washed dried and put away?

wedothebestbbqs · 25/06/2018 16:09

Unbelievable , I have just checked and they have just added the clean set to the dirty one , WHY?! waste of fucking time, I'm really irritated by that.

OP posts:
wedothebestbbqs · 25/06/2018 16:09

Now I have to take off 2 sets and put 1
Back on again, and now clean set is a bit grubby too!

Our cleaners are always doing stuff like this. The latest was when we couldn't find a large maternity pillow that I have in my bed. Completely vanished.
Eventually found it in the laundry basket....Hmm

wedothebestbbqs · 25/06/2018 16:12

Should i point this out to the agency or just leave it? Can't be human error surely

OP posts:
StayingAtTamaras · 25/06/2018 16:13

Point it out, it's lazy

SgtFredColon · 25/06/2018 16:13

What? Why would anyone do that??

Ohyesiam · 25/06/2018 16:13

Must be human error surely?

StayingAtTamaras · 25/06/2018 16:14

Or if it was a mistake then they won't do it again

wedothebestbbqs · 25/06/2018 16:15

Infuriating as I find changing the bed quite hard work as the sheets keep escaping from their corners every time, so this is a little treat once a week to have it done for me.

OP posts:
PerfectlyPosed · 25/06/2018 16:19

Do they think you just have an endless supply of covers so you can just add to them each week?! I would definitely say something, they are definitely trying to cut corners but they must know it won't last!

wedothebestbbqs · 25/06/2018 16:21

But surely it's harder to do it that way as pillowcases are a bit tight around the pillow anyway surely etc. Very fucking weird if you ask me.

Myotherusernameisbest · 25/06/2018 16:23

Unbelievable , I have just checked and they have just added the clean set to the dirty one This is mad! Who on earth does that? I've heard it all now. How old is your cleaner?

It sounds like something a teenager would do! Grin

wedothebestbbqs · 25/06/2018 16:24

They're both mums themselves and late 20's at least. Part of an agency.

OP posts:
Zaphodsotherhead · 25/06/2018 16:25

Was your dirty one a plain white cover that they might have mistaken for an 'inner' cover? And thought that you'd taken the 'actual' cover off already?

wedothebestbbqs · 25/06/2018 16:26

@Zaphodsotherhead it was a cream emma bridgewater print which has words on it so presumably they aren't actually blind.

crispysausagerolls · 25/06/2018 16:27

Call and complain - that’s bullshit

Zaphodsotherhead · 25/06/2018 16:27

Oh well. Just a thought.

wedothebestbbqs · 25/06/2018 16:35

@crispysausagerolls I want to complain but feel like it's like if you complain in a restaurant , they spit in your food so if it's at home they do something unsavoury as they are mad at you. Iyswim

wedothebestbbqs

If they are agency cleaners you need to call and complain. That’s what agencies like and ask for - feedback so they can train their staff. Mine do anyway! I have had a new cleaner for a few months now and I had to call a few times in the beginning as they specifically said they like feedback directly (and her English is very bad). This is honestly very bizarre practice and I have no idea why they did it. Seriously weird.

spanishwife · 25/06/2018 16:43

That's the strangest thing I've ever heard?!
