he said their forum is more up to date and faster, and that mners only slag it off cos they are jealous cos they want tickers and sparkly stuff.

he doesnt understand.

Yes but MN is more 'gritty' and exciting LOL

PinkTulips · 24/05/2007 11:03

tickers make my head hurt.

and i can't get around any other sites, MN is the only one wired to mom brain ways of navigating

kittypants · 24/05/2007 11:03

has he posted on mn?he should,im sure hell become an addict and youre be fighting over mn!

Botbot · 24/05/2007 11:09

What's 'the other place'? Not planning to defect, just curious.

divastrop · 24/05/2007 11:24

net mums

i was laughing for a good 2 hours at that 'ticker' thread last night, and told dp what i was laughing at.

he thinks all forums should be like that cos the gaming forums he goes on are like that(except the pictures are of jiggling bosoms and computer game characters rather than cutsey babies and fluffy teddies).

he doesnt get the 'fluffy' thing i think.i like the grittiness of MN

I was a netmum before I was an MNer and wish Id found this site first.

LieselVentouse · 24/05/2007 12:24

I knew Id found my niche when I came on here and my first question was "whats a mooncup" to which I got pelted and within five minutes of me arriving was asked which troll/name changer I was

LieselVentouse · 24/05/2007 12:25

...and Sherlock crucified me - where is she BTW Ive not seen her in ages

Botbot · 24/05/2007 12:26

Oh, that. That's rubbish.

Will proceed to 'ticker' thread now - bet it'll keep me amused all lunchtime.

he's not a meany just with different tastes

the first question DH asked me re MN was 'what's your avatar?'

LieselVentouse · 24/05/2007 12:28

Absolutely - thats why I went back on to Netmums and said "you lot are twee and annoying, stuff your tickers and glitter where the sun dont shine Im off for some fun at MN".

PinkTulips · 24/05/2007 12:29

LGJ is masquarading as BreeVanDerCamp atm

NotQuiteCockney · 24/05/2007 12:30

Oooh, MrBadger is a geek!

Botbot · 24/05/2007 12:31

In fact, can someone point me towards the ticker thread? Can't find it and am running out of lunch hour!

Eh, both DH and I worked in IT for yonks, well, he still does.

But then, we were texty geeks, I don't think either of us has ever even had an avatar.

actually the worst thing is I've discovered him on a geeky photography forum... using the joke MrBadger pic I used for him on here once.

Is it sad to use an avatar chosen by your wife? [ponders]

southeastastra · 24/05/2007 12:51

i just looked on netmums. it's weird, who would put photos like that on there. it's so weird

Botbot · 24/05/2007 12:56

ticker thread - Hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo.

Am now having to explain what's so funny to childless colleagues who've overheard my hysterical snurfling. Blank looks all round.

Sixofone · 24/05/2007 14:07

Awwww poor NM. I bet they are crying into their Barbie lunchboxes!!!

Kewcumber · 24/05/2007 14:22

I went and had a look too. Was gobsmakced that you would voluntarily put some of those photos on the net
