Rucksacks in shops

You look like a German tourist, you take up an entire aisle width and you're annoying. These items are a public menace.

Amen to that.

MrsHappyAndMrCool · 02/06/2018 15:27

I wore my ruck-sack this morning whilst I went to do a food shop Sad

BeeFarseer · 02/06/2018 15:28

Warum, danke für das Kompliment, seltsam böse Person.

mumeeee · 02/06/2018 15:28

Sometimes I need to use a rucksack for work. What would you expect me to do with it if I needed to go into a shop on the way there or the way home?

Youvealwaysbeenthecaretaker · 02/06/2018 15:29

Thank you.

And when the wearer turns around! Eyes put out, babes in arms dashed to the floor, shelves of merchandise topple as they rotate, oblivious. Stop the carnage.

I have to use mine to carry the shopping home in. Apologies for being such a menace. Buy me a car and I'll stop it.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 02/06/2018 15:29

My rucksack is my laptop bag

iamthere123 · 02/06/2018 15:29

As someone with arthritis, I cannot carry bags in my hands. When I was at uni, and had no car, I had no choice but to use a backpack!

BlueBug45 · 02/06/2018 15:31

It isn't the wearing of a rucksack that is the problem it is being unaware of the space it takes up.

I've been on the tube with people - and it is mainly men - who seem oblivious to the fact their rucksack is taking up extra space and whacking people.

So if the space is narrow or you are on public transport just take it off your back.

MrsJacksonBrodieTheSecond · 02/06/2018 15:31

Do you mean the great big camping rucksacks? Normal work/ gym rucksacks have never caused any injuries or shop destruction. If I look like I’m a German tourist then that’s a better look than I thought I had with my rucksack.

Bluelady · 02/06/2018 15:31

Totally agree. When you're as short as I am you're in constant danger of getting knocked flying/having your eye taken out. Why, why, why don't people take the bloody things off on a crowded tube?

Whereisthecoffee · 02/06/2018 15:39

Yabu it’s a normal way to carry things. Helps reduce plastic bag use too. Public transport is different take it off.

lljkk · 02/06/2018 15:40

Just wear it on your front? I do this, so it can't bash anyone my boobs wouldn't have bashed, anyway.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 02/06/2018 15:41

Nope, too many bags to carry to not have a rucksack! If people get bashed then surely they're standing too close? Much easier for me than trying to flick them with my ponytail when they're up my arse in the queue Grin

HarrietKettleWasHere · 02/06/2018 15:45

Er, I use a medium rucksack for work instead of a handbag. I'm a nanny, I need each hand for two sticky little hands available at all times. Plus it's crammed with wipes, tissues, zoo passes, plasters, water bottles, endless oaty bars....

I'm not wearing it on my front though, EVER. Sorry but that looks really stupid.

Youvealwaysbeenthecaretaker · 02/06/2018 15:54

It looks really stupid on your back.

OP posts:
Weezol · 02/06/2018 15:55

Sez you.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 02/06/2018 15:56

How can a BACKpack look stupid on your BACK?Confused

DoJo · 02/06/2018 15:57

What do you suggest people do with them?

lardymclardy · 02/06/2018 15:59

rather look stupid than be stupid.

Carboholic · 02/06/2018 16:00

YABU.

If you hate OTHER PEOPLE in the shops so much, order your shopping. Your opinion of what does and does not look ridiculous you can keep for yourself and for entertaining your friends.

SayNoToCarrots · 02/06/2018 16:01

😂 youvealwaysbeen u ok hun?

adaline · 02/06/2018 16:06

It's a lot better for your back, shoulders and spine than normal shoulder bags, especially if you're carrying decent weight.

I use one because I need easy access to the puppy in case he chews something or needs carrying or lifted out of the way when he refuses to move.

QuinquiremeOfNineveh · 02/06/2018 16:07

It isn't the wearing of a rucksack that is the problem it is being unaware of the space it takes up.

I agree. People seem to forget, or not realise, that they take up twice as much space when they're wearing a rucksack. Anyone standing nearby gets clobbered when they turn round.

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/06/2018 16:07

Meh...i wear a ruck sack . If you get hit you are too sodding close to me anyway Confused it's a shop not a crowded bus
