I don't know where to start!

I feel like I've been looking for weeks - Any of the experts want to help me out here?!

Europe, July just me and DH, relaxed luxury Smile

Europe is a big place! Any idea on country? If it were just me and DP, I'd be starting with santorini...

ReanimatedMuse · 27/05/2018 21:03

europe is a big place

This is why I'm going round in circles Grin

I want to relaxxxxx.... so a lovely pool, less concerned about beaches, but option is nice. If I can get a massage all the better.

Great food, quaint restaurants for long lunches, seafood, wine maybe a bar or two but by no means critical.

I went to Crete last year and loved it.

WittyJack · 27/05/2018 21:10

ok - so if you want a pool and nice weather and restaurants, why not think about what food and wine you like? And would you prefer a city or more of an island - would you do sight seeing or just sunbathing?

MrsTerryPratchett · 27/05/2018 21:11

Do you like it super hot?

GalwayWayfarer · 27/05/2018 21:15

What's your budget and how long do you want to go for?

ReanimatedMuse · 27/05/2018 21:15

I'm fine with super hot and no to sightseeing especially anything "organised".

I basically want to lie by a pool in beautiful surroundings, read and drink wine Smile with maybe a short wander to a small town for more wine and fresh salads and seafood.

In terms of food I am not fussy in the slightest

Croatia!
Probably some nice hotels near Dubrovnik (beautiful place) and lovely sea food.
If you get bored of sunbathing there's lots to do as well.

TooMinty · 27/05/2018 21:18

Croatia, Corfu, Santorini?

cringeworthypickybits · 27/05/2018 21:21

Rethymnon in Crete. A few luxury hotels there overlooking the sea. We stayed at the Aquila Rethymno Beach, there's also a sister hotel.

cringeworthypickybits · 27/05/2018 21:22

Oh and walking distance to a lovely town or a short bus ride.

Mrsjones17 · 27/05/2018 21:24

Croatia!! We stayed at the Adriatic beach in markaska Rivera went with TUI and loved it. Adults only. Big pool no towels reserving sun beds malarkey plenty to go round. Right on the pebble beach and the water is stunning! If you want total luxury they also have swim up rooms! Would go back in a heartbeat!

watchingthedetectives · 27/05/2018 21:25

Palma Mallorca - Covent di Missio, lovely

Lucked · 27/05/2018 21:27

If you are using a regional airport and have to fly on specific dates that might narrow your destinations.

Stinkbomb · 27/05/2018 21:27

Yes to Croatia, Crete, Santorini (or any Greek island really if you get the right location), loved Kefalonia.
Would you want to be close to airport for taxis or would you hire a car?

TireSwing · 27/05/2018 21:28

Croatia - Bluesun hotel in Brela

breastfeedingdrivingmecrazy · 27/05/2018 21:30

Il Castelfalfi in Tuscany. Incredible 5* hotel.

zaalitje · 27/05/2018 21:30

Look at Hydra, an hours ferry from Athens amazing ing island, fab seafood, completely chilled

TheChineseChicken · 27/05/2018 21:31

Look at Simpson's Travel, they have loads of lovely places

ReanimatedMuse · 27/05/2018 21:32

Thanks so much - great ideas, keep them coming 😊

I probably wouldnt bother with hiring a car so taxis are fine and we're flying from LHR, 8 -10 nights and budget fairly flexible.

Take a look at Expressions Holidays, they have some amazing hotels. They are £££ but may give you some nice ideas 😊

AdaColeman · 27/05/2018 21:34

Another vote for Rethymnon, quaint little streets to wander around if you want, fabulous Venitian harbour with fish restaurants for those long Greek lunches....Wine

londonrach · 27/05/2018 21:36

Maderia best place ever....theres a little place i can recommend. Its another world.

Jaimx86 · 27/05/2018 21:37

This place is just stunning, and Kate Moss has stayed here a few times. They'll pick you up from the port geckobeachclub.com

ReanimatedMuse · 28/05/2018 08:00

Rethmynon looks lovely.

Expressions holidays have possibly the most difficult to navigate website I've experienced recently and in this day annd age I can't be bothered with the "we'll ring you back with a quote" approach.

Gecko beach club looks perfect - but when I said budget was flexible I'd like change from 10k Grin. Happy to spend half that.

Palma, Santorini and Rethymno all in running.
