I don't know where to start!

I feel like I've been looking for weeks - Any of the experts want to help me out here?!

Europe, July just me and DH, relaxed luxury Smile

Lucerne is absolutely beautiful and should fill most of your criteria. Gorgeous weather, great food and loads of hotels with pools. You can also swim in the lake.

You must consider sorrento. Easy to get to, fly to Naples then a 1hoyr coach journey. Book one of the lovely hotels in the town rather than up in the hills. There are lots to suit all budgets. You can laze by a pool, the scenery in gorgeous. You can take a boat trip to Capri or s bus along the coast and for a bit of culture visit Pompeii. It's a quaint bustling town and although touristy no McDonald's or costa to be found. Bliss

Elite suites Rhodes - we had our honeymoon here and it was bliss!

The Myconian Ambassador in Mykonos - one is the most luxurious hotels I’ve ever stayed in, completely renovated by a famous architect a couple of years ago. Stunning rooms, hot tub on balcony, absolute vip service, champagne breakfast every morning, gorgeous pool (with free fruit smoothies and sunglasses cleaning) and loads of gorgeous restaurants in the beach below the hotel.

It’s not in the main Mykonos town but there’s a short bus shuttle that runs til late at night.

DH and I spent a week there last year after a difficult time and it was exactly what we needed, we both felt like different people when we left Smile

I would also suggest Maideria largely unspoilt, not a beach place, but all the hotels have gorgeous pools with lovely views. So many lovely little places to eat, the menus may look the same, but the food is not.

We stayed here once in Cordoba. Beautiful. Quiet, yet in town so close to amazing cheap tapas. Beautiful architecture and lots of lazing by the pool. Easy and quick to get to.
Not 'package holiday' location either so quiet and elegant. Can multi site with Seville or Granada or Malaga if you like that sort of thing.

Thanks so much. I've booked somewhere largely based on a recommendation here so very excited.

Also got some ideas for 2019 when I hope some hotels will have availability.

Next question (and I did post in chat) I need a recommendation for dinner near Heathrow. I'll be between trips and no point going home or into town so if anyone has a suggestion would love to hear it

I was going to say the white palace hotel which is just outside rethymom in Crete - stayed about 3 years ago and it was lovely - hope you have fun wherever you go
