I'm 39+4 and really believed and felt like baby would be here by now. I'm so fed up and achy my pelvic pain is awful and really ramps up in bed at night I have cried today at the thought of going to bed. This is dc2 and 1st delivery was a forceps in theatre delivery so I feel worried about labour too.
I just haven't had so much as a twinge or Braxton hic or whatever they're called i feel like it's never going to happen.
Aibu to ask if you went into labour without any pre warning signs? How did it happen and when?

I also should add I know how lucky I am, I don't want to sound like a winging cow but I'm really struggling at the moment.

My waters going was the first sign. DD arrived 18 hours later!

Aprilmightbemynewname · 27/05/2018 18:39

At 1020pm I was fast asleep, at 1220am ds was born.
Shock

Winegumaddict · 27/05/2018 18:39

Absolutely both times. 1st time waters went DC born 4 hours later. 2nd time contractions started DC born 6.5 hours later. It won't be long now.

Givemethebiggestslice · 27/05/2018 18:40

I’m 40+4 and had no signs so watching with interest!

mustbemad17 · 27/05/2018 18:42

1st time i had period type pains, didn't think anything of it until they ramped up.
2nd time i woke up at 6.30am with reeeally bad contractions & bub was born at 8.50am 🙈

I'm 38+2 now keep getting achey pains but buggar all else...i feel for you cos i'm PO'd at this stage, so guessing you must be uncomfy & fed up!! Everything crossed

agentdaisy · 27/05/2018 18:50

With my 1st I hadn't had so much as a twinge when my waters broke. No braxton hicks, no aching back, nothing. I was just getting into bed when I felt a pop as my waters broke.

Dc2 was similar, I'd had the odd twinge now and again in the weeks before but nothing I'd call braxton hicks. I woke up with contractions that slowly got stronger.

Dc3 was a different story and I had very painful and regular braxton hicks most days from about 33 weeks. Labour was almost a relief after that.

doleritedinosaur · 27/05/2018 18:54

I woke at 8am with waters gone then 2:30 it all kicked off when I was 7.5cm & 4pm DS2 was out.

This was after an induction with DS1.

Amanduh · 27/05/2018 18:54

I did. No pains, niggles, bad stomach, nothing...and my waters didn’t go until I was 10cm!!

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 27/05/2018 18:54

With my 3rd I got contractions starting at 5 minutes apart and was 9cm dilated within an hour. Delivery was 5 hours later but that included an hour in the middle when everything stopped for a while.
I had no warning apart from the contractions.

MrsMozart · 27/05/2018 18:54

One day no pain, but stomach kept going hard. Next morning at about six am I thought babe lying odd. Born by ten am. Two days early.

m0jit0 · 27/05/2018 18:56

Yes, my waters broke at 39+3 without any signs or symptoms prior to this!

Prusik · 27/05/2018 18:56

With my first I had a slow build of period pains for a couple of weeks. Back ache the morning I went into early labour and had him 36 hours later.

Second, I was laying in bed having just woken up and felt a pop. My waters went at 37+2. No prior warning. He was born about 11 hours later on my bathroom floor!

TitZillas · 27/05/2018 18:57

I had a bit of feeling of ‘oddness’ Grin I cant describe it any better, I just felt different. That night, the contractions started but it was 48hrs before DD1 was born, via forceps, 9lbs 13oz. Ouch.

Goldenphoenix · 27/05/2018 18:58

With my second pregnancy (was induced with my first), I had absolutely no signs at all. Started having twinges and under two hours later he was safely out. No bloody show, braxtons or period pains before it all kicked off. Hang in there OP

Hamspamwich · 27/05/2018 18:59

I'm feeling really emotional at the minute too I don't know how DH is putting up with my moaning 😂.
I don't remember how my last labour started I just remember the really painful bit counting the seconds to the end of my contractions.

Bad stitch like pains at 7pm. Breathing through the pain by 11pm. Fell asleep and woke up in full labour. DS born 4 hours later. 41 weeks.

Beansprout30 · 27/05/2018 21:47

I'm 40 + 1 and have had no signs at all she might be coming, with dd I had plenty of warning, plug going two days before, light contractions evening before which ramped up in the morning. I'm really anxious that this one is going to just take me by surprise and pop out of nowhere!

Hamspamwich · 28/05/2018 01:08

I'm really anxious too I feel worse knowing what's to come!

On DC2 no signs other than the ones you describe. From Friday I felt restless and uncomfortable. I didn't sleep much Saturday night my waters broke at 7am Sunday and DS arrived at 9.30.

I was in shock he came so easy, I was in an upright position so it help and had gas. DC1 was a nightmare terrible labour suction. You might be lucky, have the bags ready as it is much quicker.

elliejjtiny · 28/05/2018 01:27

With dc1 i had contractions that slowly built up over about 3 weeks and a show. With dc's 2, 3, 4 and 5 my waters broke with a massive gush. With dc's 2 and 3 contractions started 2 days later, with dc4 nothing happened and I had a semi elective c-section 2 days later. With dc5 I walked around with gushing waters for 9 days before I got an infection and was induced.

Tiptoethr0ughthetulips · 28/05/2018 01:29

First time I felt like you and was same gestation. Went to bed totally fed up, got up for a wee at 2am and waters went. Good luck, the end is in sight. Xx

Wineythepoo · 28/05/2018 05:49

Period like pains at 6pm. Baby born 6 hours later. I had been at work that day with no signs that anything was happening.

Slapdasherie · 28/05/2018 06:18

With my 2nd, was having a lovely afternoon nap with my DS, woke up 2.30pm with waters breaking, became a waterfall when I stood up and my first 2 contractions were a minute apart.

DD born 1hr 40 mins later.

susej · 28/05/2018 06:59

I woke up about 7am and felt really sick, went to the toilet and everything cleared out, went into my mums room (I’m young and lived with her for the first 3 months) and laid in her bed, still felt really sick, got in my bed said to my partner, I think I’m gunna give birth today. Went downstairs and first contraction came and it was unmistakable. In hospital by 10 and gave birth at 2.30
