AIBU To think Victoria Beckham is a right mardy, stroppy looking mare. Anybody see the way she was looking out the corner of her eye at the crowds. Not a hint of a smile.

I don’t know Annabelle4 but she did something like this. I couldn’t personally work out what was wrong.

I know people with children in Harper's school year and David's behaviour is well known about.

kateandme · 19/05/2018 15:55

pa1oma you cant leave a lin like that!expand please. :)

mtpicasso · 19/05/2018 15:57

Lots of people have problems not just VB. It is no excuse for not making an effort to look pleased to be there on someone's wedding day. She knew cameras would be upon her. Unless she wanted to make headlines?

fcekinghell · 19/05/2018 15:57

I think VB plays up to the cameras. She was walking about like she was the most important person there. Can't stand the woman. Too thin, never smiles, and not as stylish as people say she is. Looked like she was going to a funeral.

chavtasticfirebanger · 19/05/2018 15:58

I like VB. She, like most of us, has no natural 'gift' but has used what she is good at to succeed. She has done better than most of us here. She is clearly determined and loves her kids.
I think she receives unfair criticism. She is married to a naturally stunning man (although IMO she was the more attractive when they met-he has aged very well as many men do) to whom millions of women are attracted. I don't think that marriage has been easy for her at all. She has been left alone for a lot of time whilst he worked on his footballing career.
She was slagged off spectacularly for being a spice girl, saying she can't sing, that she's stuck up, she's too thin, she's not pretty.
I think she has exceptionally low self esteem. She dislikes what she thinks she looks like when she smiles and prefers a side profile. That is her 'look' and how she feels most confident. That would fit with her only smiling in the church once she felt more relaxed.
I feel sorry for her that she receives all of this online vitriol about being miserable. I don't think she loves attention at all.

I don't know if I could be accused of libel, but lets just say a lot of things do not reach the papers by the sound of it.

Pa1oma I know exactly what you are referring to

boomboom12 · 19/05/2018 16:10

I thought the fact they had an open marriage was well known?

Inkanta · 19/05/2018 16:13

I like her. I think she's a good mum - and all her kids seem well adjusted and normal to me. I also think she has a good eye for fashion.

Lupercalia · 19/05/2018 16:16

To be fair, she has perfected Active Bitch Face to a tee.

chavtasticfirebanger · 19/05/2018 16:16

Well IMO an open marriage is usually a woman staying in the marriage allowing the man to cheat because he'll do it anyway or leave the family unit.
Doubt she's having the time of her life.
She will be respected for her own talent if she leaves.

PositiveVibez · 19/05/2018 16:18

Elton's turned up in yet another dinner lady wig

😂 Post of the day

I feel a bit sorry for the Beckham's. They are absolutely obsessed with money and never seem satisfied with what they have.

I mean squeaky Dave advertising grundies for a high street store. Why? Were they a bit skint?

Dave kicking off when he didn't get his knighthood. That was awks.

No wonder she is a bit of a misbag. Living off steamed vegetables must be soooooooooo shit.

miffytherabbit1974 · 19/05/2018 16:21

"Elton's turned up in yet another dinner lady wig"

Poor Elton looks more like Thora Hird by the day.

raisedbyguineapigs · 19/05/2018 16:22

David was on some show talking about some sports thing he was doing in LA. He was asked if he was moving to LA. He said "No, the kids are in London" and then as a complete afterthought said "And Victoria". I think they live completely separate lives and its not her choice at all. She also seems incredibly self conscious about her body. I think she looks miserable because she is miserable.

IcedPurple · 19/05/2018 16:26

Thinking about it in another way. If Beckham just had a normal facial expression like all the other guests, would any of us be talking about her now? I doubt it. Brand Beckham is a bit last decade. Neither of them has done anything of note for several years now.

So the permafrown does serve a purpose - it gets people talking about her. And I don't buy the 'she's anxious around the cameras' line. This is a woman who has been actively seeking publicity for years - she sold a book of her wedding photos FFS! And she publicises her and her family's every little fart on social media.

biscuitraider · 19/05/2018 16:26

I feel sorry for her that she receives all of this online vitriol about being miserable. I don't think she loves attention at all.

We are talking about the same VB here? You don't think she loves attention??? Well sorry for being contradictory but seriously? I can't think of one single person in the UK that loves it more. Shock,

and if she's sick of the online vitriol about being miserable, she should try looking reasonably happy. She's fond of bombarding us all with all aspects of their lives in the full glare of the media, and making huge money from it, so I doubt she's sick of the criticism, I think she thinks she's giving off an air of mystery, but she isn't she just looks miserable and rather odd.

IcedPurple · 19/05/2018 16:30

Lol Biscuitraider, we said more or less the same thing!

Neither she nor her hubbie have done anything of substance for about a decade. The reason she's still in the public eye is because she actively chooses to keep herself there. And the permafrown is one way to keep us talking about her. And going by this thread, it works!

LokisLover · 19/05/2018 16:31

I worked with her a long time ago. She is very private and that appears in the way she presents herself but once you get to know her she’s so different and nice. I have a lot of respect for her.

Inkanta · 19/05/2018 16:33

As for the neutral facial expression, I think it can look okay and quite attractive when you're young, but as you get older it's not a good look. It does look grumpy.

ferrier · 19/05/2018 16:39

I like building Lego sets. Doesn't mean I lack intellect Hmm

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 19/05/2018 16:44

If she doesn’t like her smile, she could have it changed/enhanced/wiped out and done over! She’s had a fair bit of plastic surgery over the years so, why not do her snake smile?

I’m sorry, she just annoys me. She has never looked happy. Ever.

JacquesHammer · 19/05/2018 16:50

Ffs she's a lot more fortunate than most of us, damn right we'll comment

MN has really opened my eyes today. I had no idea people actually thought like this.

Utterly bizarre

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/05/2018 17:03

I worked somewhere years ago where a few people had various interactions with the Beckhams. It was not a glamorous job and we bitched a lot about a lot of people.

No one had a bad word to say about either of the Beckhams. They were polite, nice, made their own phone calls to us lowly peons. And they were nice to everyone, from the call centre to the staff they met. Didn't complain about delays and were all around good eggs.

I feel nothing but sadness that people can't see beyond a woman who doesn't like her smile very much to see a human. Richard Armitage gets away with taking non-smiling roles almost all the time (because he's only hot when he's glowering) and no one calls him names.
