Positions not ESTA, and I’m on about the purple marks.

Not normal. Go back to the GP or GUM clinic.

gruffalopuffalo · 14/05/2018 21:38

I didn't have this, so would suggest you make an appointment in the morning.

arethereanyleftatall · 14/05/2018 21:38

Not normal. Mine had one little mark where it went in.go back.

Puppymania · 14/05/2018 21:39

That looks really odd to me, I had less bruising and those red lines are nothing like what I had. I had lots of bruising when it was changed over as she struggled to remove it.

gamerwidow · 14/05/2018 21:39

I don't think that's normal. I've had two and I did get a large bruise at the site and it was a bit sore for a few days but nothing like you describe.

lljkk · 14/05/2018 21:39

bruising & painful yes (2 weeks!) but not stabbing pains (for me)

LadyLapsang · 14/05/2018 21:48

Have you looked at the official information, here -

nexplanon.com/side-effects/

Notsureabc · 14/05/2018 21:54

She said she think it hit a blood vessel most likely a vein, but I’m having pain up to my shoulder aswell like up to under my armpit, I think I just need to get it checked to either put my mind a rest or get it taken out, but the red lines are being coming more not less as time goes on.

My bruise was bigger than that but pretty uniform while yours looks a bit strange? I also had pains when i moved my arm a certain way like you describe. They soon settled down. No if so if that's normal though

Notsureabc · 14/05/2018 21:55

No this isn't normal. Go back and get it looked at ASAP Flowers

Sliceofrice · 14/05/2018 21:56

I always felt like i was being poked until it had propwrly sunk into my skin. It used to take a good 3/4 weeks before it wasn't sat at the very top of my skin and even 2/3 years in if i sat wrong it would poke sometimes. Not awful feeling but not comfortable either when it happened. Generally, after the initial settling down period it wouldnt bother me.
My first one ended up bent though so maybe that's why.

summercat · 14/05/2018 21:58

Are you a vegan @notsureabc

My niece's arm went like that when she had hers put in last year...... And she had been a vegan for a year.

It stayed like this for 6 weeks. She decided to eat a couple of eggs a day for 3-4 days in case her diet wasn't up to scratch, and the bruise was 90% gone within the week.

fruitcider · 14/05/2018 21:58

That pic isn't very clear can you post one with better lighting?

StaplesCorner · 14/05/2018 21:58

Do you have a walk in urgent care centre near you? I'd get that out immediately.

summercat · 14/05/2018 21:58

Seems she was missing some vital protein.

MadRainbow · 14/05/2018 21:59

I've had 3 and never had that reaction, get it checked

BellyBean · 14/05/2018 22:00

I had some similar bruising when I took the pressure bandage off early but the pain is worrying.

Notsureabc · 14/05/2018 22:00

No @summercat I eat loads of meat and meat products etc Grin gonna get it checked out to be sure. Better safe than sorrySad

summercat · 14/05/2018 22:01

Notsureabc · 14/05/2018 22:05
