Banana Mystery

Namechanged for this but need some Mumsnet wisdom. Ocado delivered some bananas this morning in our usual delivery. I gave them to DH and asked him to put them in the fruit bowl. Got home from picking up the kids from school and came to give them a snack. No. Bananas. Anywhere.! Texted DH asking him where he has put them - he can't remember any bananas!! I know I'm not losing the plot as they show up on my receipt! Have searched high and low including all the bins and cupboards... where have my bananas gone??? AIBU to LTB?

Are they in the cupboard under the stairs? That's where I just found our new shower curtain. If not, give it 3 days and follow your nose..

My friend questioned her dc about 14 missing Twix bars. No response.
Until her dh appeared looking sheepish.

We have a dog... he is just sitting here looking sheepish whenever I command him to find the bananas!!! Nothing under the stairs! DH denies all knowledge of them.

By the phone charger. DH took them from you then put them down to unplug his phone before going out.

If this was me/my DH I would be looking on the nearest flat surface to where he was standing when I handed them to him, or wherever he would have wandered off to to fetch keys/wallet/shoes before leaving.

The house isn't that big! They are nowhere in plain sight. Have checked his cupboard, drawers, bathroom... they were still in their plastic wrapper so don't think Dog got to them. He usually turns his nose up at bananas. NC as have asked most of my friends where they could be and don't want them to see my other posts on MN.

This isnt just a username I genuinely hate bananas.

Where do you keep your Ocado plastic bags? Maybe the bananas are still in a bag?

When you said NC I thought you meant No contact as in you were going No contact with DH over them :) too much sun :)

I once discovered a mouldy, rotting bag of what I believe were once carrots in the cupboard under my sink I had obviously been unpacking the shopping and accidentally put them in there along with the bin bags etc. that I was putting away under there.

Check all your cupboards, even the ones that aren’t for food!

My parents Labrador loves bananas and had been known to eat plastic packaging... Have you checked the bread bin?

Slightly similarly, I have been known to start the microwave, pace about impatiently waiting for it to ping, then open it to reveal... nothing inside, and to realise I've left the item out on the side.
