Have they changed it recently?
I'm sure they have, seems greasy!

Recommend me a good instant with no grease please!!

Apparently so, my mum is outraged! We have Percol Americano now and it is the nicest instant I’ve ever tasted.

Hideandgo · 11/05/2018 06:32

Was your cup clean?

AjasLipstick · 11/05/2018 06:32

I don't like instant much but my Mum buys Kenco and that's not half as nasty as Nescafe.

Pettynotvindictive · 11/05/2018 06:41

Yes cup was clean!
Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have to do a trial taste test.

Why do they change things

Lilacwine1 · 11/05/2018 07:05

I know what you mean OP. They've changed the taste of Cadburys chocolate, and not for the better.

Pettynotvindictive · 11/05/2018 07:20

lilacwine

That's because they've put palm fat in everything to make up for sugar tax. No matter if it destroys the planet, bastards.

Surely they haven't done that with coffee??!

Try Azeera coffee . It's also from Nescafe but loads nicer.

eloisesparkle · 11/05/2018 07:36

Millicano is soooo much nicer.
I can't abide Gold Blend.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 11/05/2018 07:37

Why not drink proper coffee?

Pettynotvindictive · 11/05/2018 07:44

Because when it's just me drinking it, I can't be arsed to put percolator on or get cafetière out just for one cup.

Two spoons of gold blend and hot water was an ok substitute!

I'm going to try the others on here though, thanks all!

Black & beyond espresso instant is good

Sparklyshoes16 · 11/05/2018 07:56

2nd Milicano

Nanasueathome · 11/05/2018 07:59

Percol American or Alta Rica are the best instant coffees

stripybeachtowel · 11/05/2018 08:02

Alta Rica, Espresso or Cap Colombie, all in the same range.

TooTrueToBeGood · 11/05/2018 08:07

Get an aeropress. Makes a perfect cup of fresh coffee with only a negligible increase in time and faff compared to instant.

MoistCantaloupe · 11/05/2018 08:08

douwe egberts gold. I love, love it.

Singlenotsingle · 11/05/2018 08:08

Dowe Egberts?

Mmmmdanone · 11/05/2018 08:09

I love Azera. It's often on offer in Asda and Sunbury's too.

UAEMum · 11/05/2018 08:10

They have def changed it. I got some on special offer. It is minging! Its like filter coffee and even leaves a residue of something like coffee grounds in your cup. If i wanted filter coffee i would make filter coffee! I cant wait to finish the jar!

LifeBeginsAtGin · 11/05/2018 08:11

two spoons ?Shock

ushuaiamonamour · 11/05/2018 08:32

Lavazza (intenso). Highly recommend.

BillywigSting · 11/05/2018 08:33

I drink real coffee but have a tin of azera or milicano in the cupboard for when I cba to make a pot of coffee or when I don't have time (have a little bialetti espresso moka pot so takes about ten minutes to make enough espresso for four or five cups of coffee)

They are nice enough that if they weren't more expensive than proper coffee I would probably just switch over to them completely and be done with the faff altogether.

ToadOfSadness · 11/05/2018 08:54

There is Douwe Egberts in our cupboard, it is apparently good and people are happy to drink it (not me - tea drinker).

Having looked at aero press, how is that less faffy than a normal cafetiere? It still has to be filled, assembled and cleaned out, produced grounds that need to be disposed of, also looks like it is all plastic. I would be happy to find an alternative to a cafetiere.

possumgoddess · 11/05/2018 19:40

Carte noir l'Or. That's what I like - my favourite instant coffee (and I don't really like 'real' coffee)

bluerunningshoes · 11/05/2018 19:43

lyons coffee bags
proper ground coffee in a 'teabag' great for when it's just the occassional cup.
