pregnant breasts are the worst

Angharad07 · 10/05/2018 20:08

That’s just it. I feel like moaning. Before becoming pregnant I had no boobs really (size A). Now they’re about a C and I’m 9.5 wks.

Was delighted at first until the left stopped growing. The right is getting bigger by the day. Give it a week and I’m going to look utterly ridiculous, but there we go.

Just thought I’d initiate a light hearted thread about the joys of breasts. Feel welcome to add!

YABU.

Because breastfeeding breasts are so much worse. They are massive and they leak and spit and spray milk everywhere and it feels as if everything smells of cheesy milk sometimes, esp if the baby spits up too...

At least yours are manageable. Mine are huge and droopy and the positions I have to hold the baby in have properly fecked my back, shoulders and neck Sad

Tits suck (more than the feeding baby!!).

Ansumpasty · 10/05/2018 20:13

YABU, they’re the second best, after breastfeeding boobs. Teeny, droopy boobs after 18 months of breastfeeding are definitely not the best

klopple · 10/05/2018 20:14

I felt like my breasts were great during pregnancy. They got bigger but were just full and pert. I did have stretch marks but they didn't bother me too much:

Now BFing my one year old and they are a sad sight to see! One is at least 3 cup sizes bigger than the other as my supply is much better on that side, and gravity has seriously taken its toll!!

Theweasleytwins · 10/05/2018 20:14

I had a c cup before having twins, now droopy e cup😑

Pregnant a again so wonder what they will do this time

TheMasterNotMargarita · 10/05/2018 20:16

Newsflash - It gets worse!
I also had no boobs. During pregnancy I could probably have eaten my.dinner off them.
Then the milk came in and they were approximately the size of small watermelons. After feeding baby 2 they are now sad, soft, saggy, little socks. My days of going out braless and carefree are over.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 10/05/2018 20:17

So actually, YABU BiscuitBiscuit.

That's perky boobs not 2 biscuits btw.

CottonSock · 10/05/2018 20:18

Yes.. Just wait till after!

LaurieMarlow · 10/05/2018 20:18

YABU, breastfeeding breasts are the true horrors.

However, when I stopped bf I was reasonably happy with the state of mine. I guess low expectations will do that. Blush

Fruitcorner123 · 10/05/2018 20:18

YABU post pregnancy and breastfeeding breasts are the worst. and you've got it all to come (evil laughs) Grin

happygirly1 · 10/05/2018 20:19

The pain of breastfeeding boobs when baby sleeps through a reguar feed time and you wake up with rock solid mamas - gives me nightmares to this day shudder

gluteustothemaximus · 10/05/2018 20:19

If you can put 2 pencils under your breasts, and they stay there, they are no longer pert.

Mine are no longer pert. The pencils stayed exactly where they were Grin

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and gravity.

NoodleKT · 10/05/2018 20:20

I'm with the PPs, BFing breasts are the worst! The agony first thing in a morning when DD has slept through the night!

FranticallyPeaceful · 10/05/2018 20:20

Went from a small C to a E with eldest, then a D to a E, this time I’ve gone from a DD to a H - Hmm my left boob is always smaller than my right one but always corrects itself after thankfully!

VenusStarr · 10/05/2018 20:20

This made me chuckle! "they are now sad, soft, saggy, little socks" thank you @TheMasterNotMargarita am ttc at the moment. Surprisingly, it hasn't put me off Grin

Theweasleytwins · 10/05/2018 20:21

I remember my milk coming in when j was home from the hospital-oh my so painful! Took months for them to realise I'd finished bf my DT at 11 months and continued waking up in a puddle of milk for a couple of months😫😖

bekindtobees · 10/05/2018 20:30

Perky b's to huge F's!!! 😩

TheMasterNotMargarita · 10/05/2018 20:35

@VenusStarr it's very true but the babies are totally worth it even on a bad day. And I made sure I took lots of photos of my massive mammaries so I could look back fondly on my temporary curves.Grin

Thishatisnotmine · 10/05/2018 20:37

JJ. Yes, double j about three months after dd1 was born. I stopped feeding her at 20 months when pregnant with dd2 but they had returned to a far more manageable F before then. They are saggier but don't look as bad as I thought they might!

So yabu. Painfully full breastfeeding breasts are the worst (dd1 didn't sleep but I woke up after dd2 slept though sometimes when tiny - owwwwww!)

2b1c51 · 10/05/2018 20:37

Pre children I couldn't get the pencils underneath. 14 months into bf Dc2 and I can now get the whole bloody pencil case to stay in place Grin

WeWere0nABreak · 10/05/2018 20:45

It's not just the pain when the baby sleeps through - it's also waking up in a soggy wet milk patch. Argh.

Yet another example of where human evolution fails. The partner should be the one whose body responds by making milk. Then they can feed whilst you recover from the pregnancy and birth...

Fruitcorner123 · 10/05/2018 21:54

The agony first thing in a morning when DD has slept through the night!

That sounds like a stealth boast to me mine is still waking 3-4 times in the night. I still have crap pencil holding boobs that hurt in the morning.

Namechangedtoscream · 10/05/2018 21:56

They're awful. I'm 23 weeks and mine are now a J cup and showing no signs of slowing down their growth. I hate them.

dancinfeet · 10/05/2018 22:41

If you can put 2 pencils under your breasts, and they stay there, they are no longer pert.

Think I can fit the whole bloody pencil case under mine!
Pert?! More like a couple of tennis balls in a pair of old socks since I had the kids.

UrgentScurryfunge · 10/05/2018 23:04

I went from B to F to B to F to B within 4 years Confused They've survived remarkably well. Most of the growth was in pregnancy plus one cup post-natally.

It was frustrating (and expensive) regularly buying a functional supply of bras that would only fit for a couple of weeks before the next spurt. They were tender too.

The prize does go to engorged breasts though. I had an impressive supply (possibly helped along by oat milk from DS1's dairy exclusion diet) I had to sleep on towels as I leaked so heavily at night for months and monthd, more than breast pads could take.

Oh and mastitis. I also went through the joy of vasospasms- shooting nerve pains caused by circulation problems from DS's lazy latch (as he was weaning, I got no support despite him being a bottle refuser who still needed milk). I ended up reducing feeds on one side to a level it could cope with, and therefore went lopsided. Particularly fun the morning he skipped a feed and I became engorged and very obviously lopsided by lunch time at work to the fascination of my y7s Blush

laurG · 10/05/2018 23:11

Mine went through a nice stage at about 12 weeks where I looked like I’d had s really well executed boob job. At 32 weeks I look like I’ve had a boob job and gooten significantly fatter. I look like a frumpy old bag. I just hope the don’t get too shrivelled when they deflate.
