To want to be more like Flop?

Qcumber · 05/05/2018 07:26

He's just so bloody calm! Whenever DD is having a tantrum I sometimes find myself thinking 'what would Flop do?'
Anyone else take parenting tips from Bing's ever patient carer?
(On another note, is he his dad or what? The whole Bing world confuses me.)

Bing is a mardy arse.

user1471426142 · 05/05/2018 07:34

I often find myself saying ‘channel flop’. Although I suspect Bing is likely to grow into a little shit as he’s already annoying and Flop’s permissive parenting doesn’t seem to be working.

TheRoadLessRocky · 05/05/2018 07:35

Bing is propaganda by toddlers to parents, to try to guilt us into not adequately chastising them for their strops and sulks. Don't fall for it!

Qcumber · 05/05/2018 07:36

I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Bing is so difficult but it never gets to Flop! I'd be a wreck if I had to parent Bing!

Yes! I wish I was so patient instead of muttering ‘for fucks sake’ under my breath for the 75th time that day.

I’m confused too about if he is the dad or carer. Also, why are the adults so small compared to the children?

Qcumber · 05/05/2018 07:37

@TheRoadLessRocky
Shock oh no I've fallen for it! DD loves Bing. She always makes me watch it with her. I think you may be on to something...

OP posts:
Qcumber · 05/05/2018 07:38

@0lgaDaPolga I know! It's like when the children reach adulthood they're taken off to be sewn into sack people! I can't think of any other explanation Grin

OP posts:
Mousefunky · 05/05/2018 07:38

He scares me. He’s one of those people that’s just too calm. They usually end up becoming serial killers Grin.

LastOneDancing · 05/05/2018 07:38

Sometimes Bing is just a naughty bunny who needs a time out, not Flop bending over backwards to make sure everyone accommodates his whining.

Love Ama though.

MissWilmottsGhost · 05/05/2018 07:39

Flop is quite clearly on a very large dose of valium.

Qcumber · 05/05/2018 07:39

Actually all the adults are very calm. I think maybe a lobotomy while they're being sewn into sacks Shock

OP posts:
Qcumber · 05/05/2018 07:40

@MissWilmottsGhost is that all I've been missing?! Where do I sign?Grin

higherupper · 05/05/2018 07:41

I always knew there was a creepy back story to bing!

I wish I was like flop.

MyFriendFlickaWasAHorse · 05/05/2018 07:43

Yabu. I’d hate to have to parent Bing and would therefore hate to have to be Flop.

Qcumber · 05/05/2018 07:48

@MyFriendFlickaWasAHorse GrinI definitely agree, parenting Bing looks exhausting. But that just makes Flop even more amazing. #bemoreflop

stressbucket1 · 05/05/2018 08:00

I thought flop was a child minder. They all get dropped off in the morning. Would explain why he has endless patience because he gets to hand him back at the end of the day

BazilGin · 05/05/2018 08:06

Flop, Ama and other carers are all on something. No one, not even a made up walking and talking stuffed toy would have that amount of patience.

Qcumber · 05/05/2018 08:15

@stressbucket1 but Bing has his own room at Flop's! In the intro you see Charlie being dropped off, but Bing is already in the house. Can you tell I've watched a lot of Bing?!

OP posts:
90sBrows · 05/05/2018 08:22

I do use Flop's strategies and they do work because my 3yo is as possessed by evil as Bing

Queen Thistle's techniques with the littles shits twins are also pretty good.

MyFriendFlickaWasAHorse · 05/05/2018 08:25

I always think that the woman / creature dropping off Charlie is quite rude as she is on her phone and doesn’t even pause to say hello.

“Parenting Bing looks exhausting. But that just makes Flop even more amazing”

Or is it because he is weirdly emotionless and passive that Bing acts out? Like, come on, some day this guy is going to crack... #iblameflop (did I do that right #nonsocialmediauser### Grin).

Qcumber · 05/05/2018 08:39

@MyFriendFlickaWasAHorse haha! Maybe he's so calm because he's plotting and he knows one day he'll have his revenge!
(And that was also the first time I've used a hash tag, so from my limited experience I'm going to say yes we are both definitely doing it right.)

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 05/05/2018 08:43

My DS basically is Bing. Alas I am not Flop, so the strain of staying nice is slowly killing me...

Qcumber · 05/05/2018 08:48

@Tawdrylocalbrouhaha oh a little Bing must be exhausting. We need Flop parenting classes.

The episode where all flop wants is a bloody coffee and bing keeps spilling stuff
Gives me the rage 😡😡😡

Longdistance · 05/05/2018 08:56

When dds had tantrums in shops I used to just take a huge step over them, and leave them to tantrum in the aisle in the floor. Denying all knowledge of said child being mine.

Even better, is when they’re screaming like a banshee, and we’d pick them up, and carry them out side ways with their arms and legs flaying.

I am with flop, though I’m not sure why Bing is fatter and taller than Flop 🤷🏼‍♀️
