My 2 ds2 & ds4 hate the stuff, currently giving forcing 10ml each per day down them. They’re good with other medicines but it seems they think this stuff is is poison! Is there a better tasting, easier to administer alternative? (HV says this is the best as it has the highest VitD) It’s also £4 a bottle and with the two of them having it a bottle is gone in a week. Obviously it’s for their health so I’m happy to suck up the cost if necessary but I feel so bad when it’s medicine time Sad

My toddlers love abidec!

I've never given my children vitamins. They have a healthy diet and lots of exercise and time outside.

CheerfulMuddler · 20/02/2019 22:27

That's fine if you live in Africa or Australia, but in Britain we don't get enough sunlight in winter to give them enough vitamin D to maintain healthy levels. It doesn't matter how much time they spend outside or how many vegetables they eat.

Current recommendation is that kids do need it and we do not have enough sunshine in winter and autumn to give the required vitamin d. However to answer question buy any they are all much the same.

Time outside does not equate to sufficient vitamin D in the UK.

Gummy bear type for the win. Taking vitamins is the highlight of breakfast in our house. Confused

Now I know where I have been going wrong all these years trying to get dc to take Abidec

After reading this thread I will stop locking them in the cellar with bowls of cat food and just let them outside once in a while.

I'll be saving money too, win win
